About Me

Ciao!
I’m Manuel, currently living in Ferrara. If you read my profile a month ago, chances are something has changed — just like I do, with new experiences and fresh perspectives.

Curious about my favorite joke? Then a yellow sheep is waiting for you! 🐑
(Just a heads-up: it’s my favorite… doesn’t mean it’ll be yours!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m a friendly, easygoing, and open-minded person. I enjoy sharing opinions, stories, and emotions with others — that’s why I’d choose a tent under the stars over a 4-star hotel any day.

I truly believe life’s too short to stay indoors — so grab your backpack and head out, because there’s always a new place waiting to be discovered.

I spent a year of my master’s degree on Erasmus in Prague, and later did a 3-month thesis project in Luleå, Sweden. For me, Couchsurfing feels like a mini Erasmus experience — full of cultural exchange, spontaneous connections, and shared moments. And that’s exactly why I love it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy Italian music in general — from pop and rock to ska and folk. Anything with a good rhythm and soul catches my ear!

I’m also a big fan of reading. One of my favorite authors is the Spanish writer Carlos Ruiz Zafón. His novels pull you in from the very first page and keep you hooked with their mystery and pace — I highly recommend them if you haven’t read any yet.

On top of that, I have a band with one of my best friends, Mattia. We love making music together, singing and playing the accordion and tambourine. You’ll usually find us performing on the streets, under bridges, or wherever we feel a good vibe and connection with people. If you’re curious, you can find some of our wild performances on Instagram!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh, there are crazy things I've done, like:
- I was dreaming in English (easy for an English speaker)
- Skinny dip in a frozen lake (thanks to my first CS friend)

Oh, another one just came to me, buuuuut...

Teach, Learn, Share

Everybody has a story and you can learn a lot from it: share it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company, a good glass of wine, and a story worth telling — that’s my idea of a perfect moment.

While you’re here, I’d love to show you some of Ferrara’s hidden gems — the kind of places you won’t find in a guidebook.

I can also teach you a bit of Italian to help you survive (and thrive!) during your stay.
And here’s a little tip: if you want to blend in and truly embrace the Italian spirit, just move your hands while you talk — gestures are half the language! 🇮🇹
