Overview
About Me
I study applied linguistics and multilingual communication management in Brussels and I love music, to travel and to learn. I’m very interested in other cultures and languages and I like to meet new people. I would describe myself as a flexible and easy-going guy who loves to talk about every kind of subject.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love learning, traveling and exchanging knowledge. Meeting locals is a big part of the experience and I'd be glad to engage in a nice conversation with them. Luxury isn't really my thing. Whenever I travel somewhere, I prefer exposing myself fully to the lifestyle of the people living there instead of booking a boring hotel room without any input.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Summer 2019 was my first experience hitchhiking. I went from Brussels to Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Den Haag with a friend. During the trip I finally got the chance to experience Couchsurfing for the first time and meet some amazing people on the way :)
One day when I was 19 I wanted to see how far I could walk in 1 day so I left my home in the early morning and continued walking in one direction with few stops. I managed to reach 50 km by the end of the day, crossing 3 provinces.
Summer 2020 I had the crazy idea to travel from where I live to the city of Tilburg in The Netherlands by bike with 2 friends (120 km) and all the way back after having visited the place. Despite losing my GoPro while swimming in a swamp near Turnhout, it was undoubtedly an eye-opening experience.
Summer of 2021 I went on a hitchhiking adventure with 3 friends starting in Sofia, Bulgaria. After exploring Turkey for a week and experiencing the most incredible hospitality yet we made our way to the country of Iraq. After all we stayed another 3 weeks in Iraq where we wandered around different parts of the country. My best memories were experiencing the unbelievably pure hospitality of the Al-Alam village near Tikrit where we stayed for 2 nights, camping in the mountains close to the Iranian border where we saw the most beautiful landscape and visiting the alternative neighbourhoods of Baghdad. The trip made me truly realise to which extent traveling is the best way to learn about life and open up your mind.
Spring 2022 I went to Jordan and got the incredible opportunity to see Syria for 3 days. I liked the country so much that I took my girlfriend there the next year (in 2023). We travelled the country for 1 week and also backpacked through most regions of Lebanon.
Summer 2022 I went hitchhiking alone for the first time. As I wanted to arrive as early as possible to my girlfried's house in Iaşi, Romania I hitchhiked non-stop for the first 2 days without sleeping. I eventually got there in less than 48 hours and arrived at 3 AM. Afterwards I proceeded to hitchhike towards Türkiye after being discouraged to hitchhike in Romania by Romanians themselves. Romania quickly became my favourite European country to hitchhike as I never had to wait more than 10 min for a ride. After being stuck in Ruse, Bulgaria for more than 24 hours (no rides) I finally arrived in Türkiye where I spend my last days until having to return home to study for my finals.
Summer 2023 I went hitchhiking (again). My original plan was to travel from my home towards the East, through Turkey, ending up in Iran to explore the legendary Persia. However, after arriving in Germany the first night and meeting an insanely cool Albanian guy and his friends my plans soon changed. I ended up joining them in their van on their journey towards the Albanian Korab mountains where they were throwing a festival. After camping for 3 days while acquiring some valuable life lessons I continued on my trip and explored Albania for 1 more week solely by hitchhiking (although being told by most Albanians that it wouldn't work out).
September 2023 I visited the South of Brazil with my girlfriend as well as Foz do Iguaçu, where we crossed the border (illegaly, as we didn't have a yellow fever vaccine) into Paraguay so we ventured one of South America's least visited countries being well treated by the hospitable and genuine Paraguayans.
Spring 2024 I travelled through Central Asia with my girlfriend (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan). My favourite part might have been staying in Tosor village next to Issyk-Kul where the scenery was movie-like. Although my girlfriend wasn’t such a fan of the hitchhiking idea at first, we quickly realised that it was basically the only way of travelling in this remote region hahah. I was also extremely impressed by the talented pop artists in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Summer 2024 I hitchhiked to Bucharest with a Belgian friend so we could go to a festival at the Black Sea. Met some great people along the way and learned much about life. September that year I visited several places in the Northeast of Brazil where my grandparents are from and was very impressed by the beauty of the region and the kindness of its people.
Spring 2025 is the time I finally get to experience East Asia!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm able to teach you truly everything I value, time would perhaps be a problem.
I want to learn more about people's way of living alternating from what I'm already accustomed to.
Sharing can often be priceless, I'd like to be the living proof of that
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some interesting (travel) stories, language practice and even music I can play if instruments are available.
