About Me
Enjoy life and people and live simply and honestly.
I enjoy many outdoor activities. I don't care for TV or play video games. I try to stay well informed. I eat well and exercise regularly. I keep a clean and organized home, yard and garden. I appreciate people and their stories. We enjoy time with grand kids, family and friends. We are cautious of illness and offer free covid19 testing kits
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Sharing what we have often costs little or nothing yet adds greatly to our lives. Whether I am a host or a guest I work for relaxed and comfortable relationships that creates great memories. I enjoy learning what others have decided is important.
Without couch surfing, there would be a lot of empty spots where I now have valued friends. Couch surfing is great.
Interests
I hike several times a week with friends on many wilderness trails near our home. I contributed over 220 hours of trail building in the 2023 work season.
I come from a long history of bread bakers .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I designed a very simple and extremely efficient wood stove to heat our home.
I also built a three bedroom home on a Southeast Alaska beach three miles from the road system. We live in town now in a home I mostly built/remodeled.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have an excellent sour dough starter and bread recipe. I'm an expert at filleting and smoking fish and lox. I keep a trail map on our wall of the 100 trails in our area. I enjoy cooking and sharing meals. I am very clever at maintaining a simple and functional home.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation, a fresh way of looking at ordinary events. Perhaps the most ordinary things in life are what we most treasure when we look closely.
