Sobre mí

Mid-2016 Eric and I decided to step off our full-time career track to return to the same college town where we met in 1990. We both lost a lot of weight, got back in shape, and spend more time with our son.

Laramie, Wyoming, is an outdoor lovers' paradise with skiing, biking, and hiking. We keep busy being in nature. There are numerous museums and live events to enjoy as well. We are involved in community activities and volunteer in our respective professional areas. Ripp enjoys art, cooking, technology, and his friends.

Traveling, sampling different cuisine, and learning about other culture are our passions! We enjoy learning new things, meeting people, and having adventures. Travelers who speak Spanish and can cook delicious ethnic food are very welcome.

PLEASE read our entire profile. If you don’t, we can tell and will answer with a “no.”

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I (Marla) was introduced to Couchsurfing through an experience with another site. My host is an avid Couchsurfer and we cohosted a visitor during my time there.

We are interested in meeting other people and participating in cultural exchanges.

I (Marla) slept on a concrete floor in a one-room hut halfway up Volcán de Agua, shivered all night, and hiked to the crater the next morning by myself.

Share:

• workshop for bikes and/or skis
• loan of a beater bike (AKA cruiser) to take a ride
• a meal and/or activity

Building community and cultural exchange are what make CS great! If you are just looking for a free place to stay, we won't be a good fit with our style of Couchsurfing. For whatever reason, we are getting surfers who repeatedly change plans which we accommodate to a point (using us for a backup?) or come clean at the last-minute about just wanting to party and show up to our home late/early (college town thing?). Tell us your favorite color so we know you read our entire profile. We are flexible and understand that life happens; however, these workarounds to bypass our no-same-day-requests boundary are not cool as it destroys the trust necessary for CS to thrive. We want to be great hosts to great guests!!

A customized request with our names is expected. The cut-and-paste thing seems rather impersonal and counter to cultural exchange (whether you are from another country or just Fort Collins). Mention why you would like to stay with us as well as why we would enjoy sharing our home with you based on actual content of our profile. (If we’re requesting to stay with you, expect the same from us.)

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

Our family has a mix of a couple introverts and an extrovert. We have learned to get along and can adapt to your style. Because we are interested in a cultural exchange, I hope we can get to know each other a bit.

As a family we share interests in reading, travel, and outdoor activities. We value hard work, tidiness, and punctuality. We are the type of people who notice if something needs to be done and do it. Expect us to communicate directly, openly, and honestly. If you would like and our schedules allows, I would enjoy cooking a meal for you.
