This year, I decided I want to feel inspired, fearless, relaxed, authentic, and like I'm flourishing. I'm committed to doing things and having experiences that will put me in those states. Join me!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been on Couchsurfing since 2008 and have met some of my best friends here!
I love having deep conversations! I love having silly conversations too. If you're funny, talk to me! I will laugh at your jokes.
I enjoy discovering new recipes (this one is my new favorite: https://www.asaucykitchen.com/one-pot-moroccan-chicken-stew/), listening to podcasts, watching TV, and asking questions. What about you?
Oh, I've recently started learning acrobatics: cartwheels, trapeze, and aerial silk.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite type of music is sad songs with beautiful lyrics. "Girl from the North Country" is so beautiful it makes me want to cry. If I'm in the mood, I'll listen to jazz, the popular kind, like Chet Baker or (my new discovery) Blossom Dearie. I love black soul singers like Nina Simone. When no one else is around, I like to listen to boring, sad female folk singers like Josephine Foster. Listening to Patti Smith reminds me of who I am and what really matters in this world. I have a teenage crush on the band The Smashing Pumpkins. I know that's embarrassing and Billy Corgan's turned into a grumpy, fat old man. I think The Talking Heads have created great songs, and if David Byrne wanted to hire me as a personal assistant, I'd leave everything behind and go. I know the lyrics to all Beatles songs as well as the biographical details of all the band members. I have a great Spotify playlist called "Cleaning" with Queen, George Michael, and Prince.
Favorite movie: I like Donnie Darko and I heart Huckabees. The last movie I watched was "Raw" – it's a coming-of-age movie about a girl who goes away to college and has to deal with all the shit you have to deal with as a young freshman away from home, PLUS she finds out she's a cannibal. I thought it was AMAZING.
I was really big into fiction when I was younger. I wanted to be a novelist myself. My favorite author was Jack Kerouac. I grew up and got sidetracked and started reading self-help and marketing books. Sad, I know.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I quit my corporate job to join the Couchsurfing collective in San Francisco in 2009. It was one of the most exciting times of my life! Also, I got married and moved from a big city to a tiny town.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to wash your hair with natural ingredients, how to make a pancake with just 3 things, and I can give you relationship advice. (I work for a dating coach!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook for you. We can check out cool things in your city together. We can talk about what's important to you. Let's be friends!
