Chi sono

Hey my name is Marten. I'm doing History and Spanish at the Uni Bonn for teaching profession. I guess people would describe me as an easy-going and uncomplicated person.

I'm currently living in Salamanca to continue my studies of the spanish language.

Travelling different places from around the world can really help you see things out of different perspectives.

Interessi

Doing sports, I have to say that the one which usted to suit me the most was doing racing cycling. I usually do athletic sports in the gym combined with Calisthenics.

Listening to music. I put a little list of my favourite bands further down.
I really like languages, it's definitely a very interesting concept. I am not able to speak many but my goal is it to master three or four and maybe having an adequate knowledge of others.

Having a chat about current topics and situations in the world. But sometimes I just feel like all the political things have a very bad effect on my mood.

I am quite passionate about the football club "HSV", Hamburger Sport Verein, which can be quite shite because they do not play well anymore. But I can't help it because I have an emotional connection to it.

I am also very good at pancakes by the way :D

Musica, film e libri

If you want to get a great understanding of what the German society was like between the 1st and 2nd WW and how the Nazis rose to power, I can suggest the books of Volker Kutscher. The first book is called "Der nasse Fisch" and the series' name is "Babylon Berlin". It's a German series and it makes me very nostalgic. So much that I sometimes wished to be a contemporary witness.

A movie which has always make me cry when I was younger was 'the fault in our stars'. The story and the fate of the protagonists is kind of beautiful but very sad at the same time.

I love rock and indie music. Lately I got access into the metal world which I always thought wasn't my thing but I slowly get into it. I really started to like the Nu-Metal era, Metal core and so on.
I'm a big fan of German Punk as well.

Favourite bands/artists: Deftones, Rage against the machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, The Strokes, Broilers, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, Feine Sahne Fischfilet, Faber, Von Wegen Lisbeth, LANDMVARKS, Turnstile and probably so many more haha

Insegna, impara, condividi

Nothing is steadier than change. My mother always used to say that and it helped me a lot through difficult times.
