Being really good in my job, but keeping up the adventure.
I'm a traveler-adventurer, engineer... I am about to get used to not being a student. I like to explore new places, walk about a lot, try all the street food and talk to locals and fellow travelers. I'm generally rather passionate about the things I do and talk way too much if get started.
The best thing about any trip is the people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel when I can, also host when I am stationary. I stayed at many hosts, met a ton of people who didn't host me but showed me around, been to a few CS meetings, hosted in Budapest, Sydney, and Halden (Norway).
Looking to host in Coimbra soon!
I love cars, motorcycles, snowboarding, fixing stuff, want to start a business eventually, and can't stop reading about decision theory and behavioral economics. And let me say how I love motorcycles once more.
- salsa dancing
- energy storage
- decision making
Music, Movies, and Books
Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Star Wars - books and movies, loved them all. Recently got addicted to House of Cards. I'm also in love with every movie Tarantino ever made.
Some books I've really enjoyed: Taleb's Antifragile, Gilbert's Stumbling on Happiness, Pirsing's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
Music: Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Metallica.. and the works of Howard Shore for background music when I work, and also recently I noticed myself listening to dance and party music just for itself.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked a lorry with a broken scooter, got escorted off of the autobahn by the police pushing the bike with no lights at midnight… and walked away with no fine.
In 2015, I crossed Eurasia on train, rode a shitty old Honda Win from Hanoi to Saigon, hitchhiked over to Singapore, took a 3 day ferry over to Kalimantan and hitched some more. :))
Teach, Learn, Share
The theory of hitchhiking - I can go on forever, maybe I should make a TED talk out of it!
I have some experience teaching engineering and programming, happy to pass that on. :) I am also pretty handy with repairs, both electronics and vehicles.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I learned how to prepare Hungarian goulash soup and Indonesian nasi goreng! :))
