Hi, my name is Matej, I'm 21 years old and I live in a small town in Croatia called Bjelovar. Last year I finished highschool and instead of going to university I've decided to try traveling.
It sounded like a cool idea, to me that is, my parents weren't too thrilled to be honest.. Anyways, I work as a magician at birthday parties and various events. I've been doing magic for 4 years and I'm really glad I got into it.. The people you meet, the experiences that happen along the way... Priceless. So I thought, why not combine it with my life long dream of traveling all over the world?
Besides witchcraft and wizardry, I've been playing the guitar for 6 years now. Currently I'm really into blues, but usually I play rock (Queen, GnR, AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Chuck Berry etc.) and basically anything that sounds good to me. I also do sports, I was pretty good at basketball before but now I only do it recreationally.. I also do slacklining. For those that don't know what that is, it's basically a wire that you walk on, believe me it's more fun than it sounds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First time I've heard about couchsurfing was on a tedx presentation from a guy called Tomislav Perko and I absolutely loved the idea. I decided to read his travel book and after I read it, I knew what I have to do. Since I couldn't decide which university to go to, I decided to go traveling to set my mind straight and figure out what to do with my life

Interests

I want to learn about new cultures and experience as much of the world as I can. I thought that was unlikely since I don't have the money for those kinds of expeditions, but then I got introduced to couchsurfing... so I figured, why be in one place for your entire life when you have the whole world to explore?

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of music, but I prefer old school music like Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, The Doors etc... Currently my favourite band is Red Hot Chilli Peppers but I haven't been to their concert, I hope that's about to change.
I read thillers and travels.. Mostly because I read 2 books, 1 was a thriller and the other one was a travel..
Love tarantino movies, comedies, mystery movies like shutter island etc.

I'd be glad to teach anything that I know, except my magic tricks, that's top secret, but I'm always up for giving guitar lessons and if you're a musician I'd be happy to jam with you.. If you have a guitar that is.

We could hang out, go for beers, chillout, party. Since I'm staying at your place, you're the boss. It would be awesome if you play guitar since I don't plan to bring mine because I'm too lazy to carry it. Also if you need help with something, I'd be glad to help :)
