Overview
About Me
I just moved to Colorado with a tiny vintage camper that I restored and remodeled to withstand the cold and function as semi off grid tiny house for my pup and I while we chase powder in the backcountry and at the resorts. Do you have a friendly driveway I can set up in? and maybe an extension cord I can plug into? I'm willing to pay rent for the space as well as for the electricity. Access to a garage sink or spigot where I could fill water would be lovely!
I am interested in a longer term arrangement (I'm here for the winter season at least) where I would pay a decent rent for the things outlined above, but I am also flexible, and I would be open to a shorter term arrangement, or something where we could check in after a week or two and see if it is going to work longer term.
But enough about me, lets get to what you are really interested in. That handsome dog in the pictures. I will say just this. He is as well behaved as he is pretty. His name is Pivo, which happens to be the Czech word for beer, and he is one of the sweetest dogs I have known. Everybody that meets Pivo inevitably tries to find a way to keep him for themselves. He gets along great with other dogs and is smart and adaptable.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Immediately after grad school I started working as an engineer. I made a decent living and for 7 years I headed down the typical path of buying a house, putting down roots etc.
Late this fall the company I worked for notified me that i would need to relocate to a city to keep my job. I realized that this was my opportunity to finally break from the path I was on, and do something that I am actually passionate about.
I am taking this time to do the ski bum thing (something I always regretted not doing after college), I have a few ideas for outdoor gear products that I am planning to develop and possibly start a company based on.
Interests
I have a myriad of interests. I suppose the easiest way to do this is to just list some of them: Skiing, BC Skiing, Hiking, Yoga, Coffee, Brewing Beer, Cooking, Experimental Aircraft, Building things, fixing things, Classic Cars, Sailing, Sustainable living, Environmental advocacy, Trail Running, Music, Learning Guitar, and Tiny Living.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm all over the map with musical tastes. I'm typically open to anything. I love sharing new music!
I'm not a big TV/Movie watcher. But there are exceptions
Currently Reading " On The Road" and "Snow Sense" both applicable to my current adventure!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two friends and I mimicked the BBC TV show "Top Gear" for vacation by creating a challenge which involved each of us buying a budget muscle car and then driving across the US from NY to CA in under 10 days. We all made it despite my 65 breakdowns along the way! Check out the pictures! Oh and I also accidentally swam with a shark in the Bahamas last year!
Teach, Learn, Share
I just completed my Avvy 1 course. I'm passionate about backcountry skiing and I would love to share what i've learned and meet some people to go into the backcountry with! I also have the Epic Local Pass and the Rocky Mountain Super pass this year so I'm planning to spend some time inbounds as well. Two other things that would be fun to share are cooking, and brewing beer.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can fix damn near anything! Cars, motorcycles, electronics, poorly assembled ikea furniture. Whatever it is let me look at it for a few minutes and i'm sure we can diagnose it and figure out a fix. I also have tools with me that may come in handy!
My dog! If you are a dog person you are most likely going to want me to share him with you, and I certainly can! Pivo is a fantastic hiker and skier and he will even carry your beer and food to the summit for you in his backpack. Super thoughtful right?!
