关于我

CURRENT MISSION

2 years into a 2 week holiday..

ABOUT ME

Well I'm from the beautiful Western Australia, an hour or so south of Perth.

Funny story how this all came about really.. a few years ago I was working in the outback, in the most remote parts of Australia when I had a sort of epiphany to leave and do something different. So that's exactly what I did; got a backpack, booked a one way flight to London, kissed mum on the cheek & told her I would be home in a few weeks... That was nearly 2 years & 5 continents ago.

I can't pick the exact moment where everything spiralled out of control but i have never looked back. I would like to save the whole story for in person haha.

By far the most important & rewarding part of this journey has been the companions & friendships I have made along the way. The sort of kooky individuals, the strange ones who aren't afraid to be different, the ones who would give you the shirt off their back and have a story to tell. Quality individuals, who in normal every day life may be diamonds and hard to find...but in the travelling world are a dime a dozen.
These people, these like minded people, us, mixed together in hostels, busses, mountain trails, wherever!!, are essentially the core of backpacking- the people make the place..but there's only so much interaction with locals you can have when staying at hostels. So I guess that's why I'm interested in couch surfing, to get of know countries, places and the people on a more personal level and of course to return the favour when I finally get back there.

But anyway, about me. I'm 23, Aussie male who grew up on the coast so absolutely love the ocean and everything to do with it. Surfing, diving, sailing, fishing, snorkelling, anything to do with the beach I am all over. For sure this reflects my personality, very outdoorsy, relaxed & easygoing.
I prefer the outdoors lifestyle, I really go for the adventure. You would find me in a small surf town, or on a mountain trail rather than in a big city. Nature is too beautiful to not explore, not to say I don't appreciate amazing cities though.
I'm a curious person, certainly not shy in any respects. I value people who have good morals respect for one another. I try to surround myself with these sort of people. I love art, and street art in particular. I love artisans & creative people.

That's basically it. I'm friendly, outgoing & always up for a chat over a beer!

PHILOSOPHY

The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have crashed on many a couches.. But I'm new to the couch-surfing community so have no experience directly from this site..

兴趣

My time is spent exploring, Wandering, finding secret places then sharing them. Researching, networking, learning about things, people, places.
I'm a social person, I enjoy company & a big night out or two! I consider myself fairly spiritual aswel, so read a lot of text about spirituality, meditation & mindfulness.
It's funny how this paragraph asks for information on what I do in my spare time.. I don't really have spare time. My time is spent on my interests.. As they say; if you're bored, you're boring.
