I've been living overseas for 20 years, working as a teacher. I'm a vegetarian and have been for a loooong time. I love travelling, books, the sea.

Travel, literature, animals. I love the sea, and have dived in some cool places. I've done some sailing and would love to do more. I love books and love people who love books; and people who love to talk about books. I also enjoy Latin dancing but I'm not very good! I play the piano and like to get drunk and sing songs.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love stories, real or imagined, in literature, in music, in movies. I feel lucky to be a literature teacher as I get to spend most of my days discussing books with curious intelligent kids. I'm always looking for recommendations for new books and love to spend time discussing books. There is so much I like, fiction and non-fiction: Mahfouz, Marquez, Murakami... I like to read travel, history, politics, anthropology,anything as long as it's well-written.One book which inspired me to travel was 'In Patagonia'. Read it.

I'm particulary fond of some movies by Hithcock, Powell and Pressburger, David Lean and Stanley Kubrick. Rear Window, A Matter of Life and Death, and Dr Zhivago are some of my favourite movies. Other faves include Withail and I, Apocalypse Now, I Heart the Huckabees, the Big Lebowski, Monty Python...

As for music, I like most about everything!
