About Me

Gratitude is the must important language any traveler should learn.

Borned in Bogotá, Colombia, I am in my 60´s and do couchsurfing just because I am interested in people for all around the world and enjoy to share my place. Being this country some kind of "difficult" I like to answer questions about what to do and places to avoid. I use to work as photographer in advertising, media and teaching in universities here and Mexico (although I also worked with the East African Wildlife Society for a while) In this very moment of my life I have a lot of spare time so I am traveling and meeting people as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I thing is a wonderful way to meet people from different places. For a traveler is also a nice way to short time knowing a city. Being or talking with locals is always a good idea. .

Interests

A lot of them. Photography, 20th century history, politics, sociology, antropologhy, economics, aviation.

Music, Movies, and Books

"Classic" music and earlier rock. Movies about history but never the hollywod interpretations. I like humour and dramatic movies. Related to literature I read latin american writers like Carlos Fuentes, Jorge Isaacs, Alvaro Mutis (my favorite), Vargas Llosa, Juan Rulfo, García Marquez and many others non latin writers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wildlife photography under natural conditions (without paraphernalia) in east africa during the early 80s. Nice film era cameras and total lack of production. When improvising was the only way to do so.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach photography (analog, digital and common sense ;) ). I have also experience in media, advertising, and "how to undersand" about the concept of the image. (advertising, fashion and social manipulation)

I would learn everything that you can share with me.
