About Me
CURRENT MISSION
This Above All to Thine Own Self Be True!
ABOUT ME
Melissa was surfing for years from her home in NJ by the time she met Robbie in 2010. They got married in 2012, whereupon Melissa threw everything in a re-usable shopping bag and and joined Robbie in Fairhaven, MA. We found the perfect house and Melissa convinced Robbie to hop on Couchsurfing bus!
And then Avery showed up and claimed a room! So these days we offer one of two couches.
We love to laugh. Hate to cry. Melissa and Avery cry more than Robbie. Love to feel passion for all that brings us joy in life; faith, family, friends, wit, knowledge, and a deep belief we are all equal despite race, creed, color, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.
PHILOSOPHY
We've been bestowed the gift of life to make a difference. To whom much is given; much will be expected.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Melissa was born with a couch in her pocket and has been surfing since birth. Robbie is an amazing host!
Avery is a tween and her wit never fails!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Melissa has always experienced the BEST! From San Francisco to Dublin to India to Mexico and many in between, she has been blessed by a bevy of kind souls with couches. In exchange, she encountered beautiful souls from around the world with her NJ couch. Robbie is no longer a novice, having now experience the delight of hosting a few times. He's settled into being the guy that makes gourmet sandwiches and makes sure there are plenty of towels. Avery is the greeter and is always so sad when "the friends" have to leave.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Melissa once rang the bell at the NY Stock Exchange. She quit smoking! She got married for the first time at 44! Robbie insists the only thing amazing he's ever done is marry Melissa. There might be some sarcasm in that. ;) Robbie survived a 14-foot fall from a ladder onto concrete just after they got married. Since that fateful day, he has become a remarkable testament to courage and what it takes to overcome adversity. He is Melissa's hero.
And the most amazing thing? We became an unexpected family when we welcomed Avery into the fold when she was 8 months old. Melissa googled how to change a diaper. Robbie prepared for a lifetime of inhouse comedy with a kid that just doesn't fail to provide the best lines.
