About Me

*LIVE MORE - LOVE MUCH - LAUGH OFTEN* To Have A Happy And Full-Filling LIFE :-)

Look at my pictures to know how I look like.
Check out my profile to know where I come from and what I'm doing here.
Read the references that friends wrote to me to know about my personality, and why not, where we have met!

In brief, I'm honest, dynamic, very friendly and communicative. I like to HELP people (that's my nature and my work!!). Also, I love to EAT (any cuisine), to LAUGH (watch out! It could be contagious), to DISCUSS (make my brain works!!) and to DISCOVER new things (culture, history, thought... Anything!)

PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT I'M UP FOR ALMOST EVERYTHING: museum, concert, outdoor activities, cooking, playing guitare, taking pictures, wandering... Anything! :D

Share and... Respect (myself, others, environment)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about this beautiful project in February 2008 by an ex-colleage when I was planning my trip to the West Canadian. Then I subscribed myself 4 months later, in June. My first CS meeting was in July in Calgary. In this cowboy city, I met my first CS friend (Mark Lewis) and experienced for the first time by surfing a couch @ Mark Hopkins's appart.

I went back to MTL in September 2008. My first event with MTL community was the BBQ Party @ Andres's appart. Since, I get involved in many events and activities in MTL. Here are a few events that I have organized myself or with other CS friends:

YEAR 2009

February: Celebrating the Chinese/Vietnamese New Year
March: Badminton & PingPong Sport Group
September: Sushi Night (with Sebastien Chion)
September: Camping @Mont Sainte-Anne (help in planning)
October: Tapas & Cocktail (with Seb C. again for our 2 birthdays)
November: Invasion in Rimouski (with other CSers)
November: CSE (CouchSurfing Explorateurs) has been founded

May, June, July: (Break - Health problem)

So far, my CS experience is pretty good. I'm happy to make some new friends. Everytime I meet a new CSer, it's a new experience for me. In general, people are nice and generous to me. BUT, it happened 3 experiences in which I was NOT comfortable.

After 4 years knowing and actively participating among the CS community, I realize that CS world is like any other world: there are always Good, Bad and "Weird" people.

I had a weird experience with a CSer but he was ok afterwards so I left a positive reference to him (he likes to be naked and asks people to do so but I refused). Few months later, I met another guy who at first was very nice then turned vinaiger by being very selfish and he stealed my money. So I left a negative reference to him in order to protect other CSers, especially girls newbies. (But apparently, some newbies girls are so naives that they kept surfed at his place. Some girls are kind of stupid you know, they dont read references left by people). My third bad experience was with Mister Yan Gourves, which everybody know him, particularly in Montreal and Québec. Because he has a big mouth and likes to control everything and everyone. It happened many times that he yeld at me or pissed me off just because I organized an event which happen at the same time to another one. That's really ridiculous. When I set up my CSE event which he was not happy with the date and time, he kept ringing, phoning and texting me until 3AM!! He's really a "freak control" for sure!

In short, after 4 years having met and chatted with M-A-N-Y people, I realized in some way that the profile is not necessary what and how the person is in real life. So when you read a profile, you have some expectations about that person. Then when you meet him/her, you might be very surprised (in both ways!!) So watch out! CS world is a jungle like everywhere...

SPORTS (volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, pingpong), cultural events (music, cinema, theatre), outdoor activities (camping, canoe), guitare, piano, beach, capture a lot of pictures, have fun with friends and... eat & laugh (of course, it's important!!) :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2011: Borealis Auroras in the Yukon. What an amazing natural phenomenon!

Many things in Vietnam... that make me so sad... Especially once when I met a young aboriginal girl (with her baby on her back) who had been walking 12 hours (without shoes) from her small village to town to get some rice... Then she had to walk 12 hours back home... always with her baby sleeping on her back... Wow! Incredible!

2011: Swimming with dophins and got his kisses for my Birthday in Cuba. Yahoo :-D
2011: A road trip from Montreal to Whitehorse in 3 days and 4 hours!!!
2011: My first Spa ever in winter (outside!!)
2010: My first dogs sledding up north of QC

2008: I went to Calgary by bus (GreyHound) from MTL. More than 3 days sitting tight in the bus and covering more than 3000 km... Let me say that I went back home by plane! :D

2007: I wouldn't tell you what I did when I was at LIDO DI OSTIA (which is a beach near by ROMA). Woa, what an experience!! Really loved it! I've never done that before...

2005: I save life of a guy (who actually was a policeman!) from suicide.

2003: I was lost on the top of Mont-Albert mountain (Chics-Chocs mountains, Gaspésie, QC). I spent a night in the cold, without food, without any thing and any help... (ils font durs la SÉPAQ!!!) totally lost in the wood with wild animals... I thought I was attacking by a bear or something... For the first time in my life, I was really and r-e-a-l-l-y scared!!! No kidding!!

Early childhood: I've bitterly lived under communist regime. Also have tasted to poverty system.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you French or Vietnamese if you want and you teach me English in return. Is that a good deal? ;-)
I've taught French to kids and adults; Vietnamese to a couple of adults who want to travel to Vietnam.

Well, I can't stop learning and sharing. Look at my activities, you understand why!

I'm willing to know anything about language, culture, history, social life...
