I can't imagine a trip without knowing or immersing into local culture, and off the grid destinations. And, that what makes couchsurfing STANDS out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Myanmar version

1. Visited the mouth of the Irrawaddy river in Myitsone, Kachin state.

2. Explored the "Petra of Myanmar" in Sagaing.

3. Lived in Mandalay, known as the cultural and royal city.

4. Jumped into waterfalls, streams and rivers of Northern Shan state.

4.1 cycled around the plains of southern Shan state.

5. Had a chance to visit the least visited state, Kayah state. Its diverse ethno, padaung village and elephant mountain.

6. Hiked, climbed Zwekabin and other hills of Kayin state.

7. Travelled Mon state and experience its unique cuisine, fabrics, and scenes.

8. Stayed a week on a private island in Myeik archipelago.

9. Spent a weekend in Pathein. One week in Ngwe Saung (longest beach in Myanmar doing nothing).

10. Cycled all the way to Thandwe (home of Ngapali beach) from Rangoon. One of the few core memories living in this majestic country.

11. Hired a private cab and explored the remnants of the second Burmese dynasty in Bago.

12. Currently, I live in Yangon. Isn't that amazing. You can see me here.

13. Lastly, places may fade (due to earthquake and other catastrophic events), scenes may turn ugly (atmospheric and geologic hazards). It's ALWAYS the people that make me fall in love with the place.

14. I'm on a mission to complete the 7,7. Visiting 7 states and 7 divisions or regions. Right now I've visited 12/14.
