ABOUT ME 35 year old, queer political animal. I was born in Baghdad and later grew up in Jordan and Germany, before studying in London. For the past four years I've been based in Latin America – I've been living in Colombia for over a year now and am feeling great about my life here :) I cook a lot, love walking for hours, and enjoy meeting people. I've been working with clay for some time, and recently started learning Tambor Alegre, a drum from the Caribbean north of Colombia. Things that excite me in others are their knowledge of history and politics of a place, and their curiosity about the world.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
It's been over ten years that I last used Couchsurfing, but I've had some amazing people stay at mine in the past, and have met incredible people while travelling. I'm hoping this platform will help me connect with people in a more genuine way whilst out and about. And equally, I'd love to share my knowledge of the places I've lived in or visited.
