Music, Movies, and Books
Sci-fi, superheroes, horror, but also drama & comedy, comics : Pre-Nu52 Legion of Super-heroes & Wonder Woman, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Neil Gaiman, R.A. Kartini, Multatuli, Stephen Oppenheimer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was born and raised in a metropole, the biggest city in this country, but I was moved to small city, town and villages. And I LOVE IT!
* Yes, I WAS moved. That's NOT a grammatical mistake. I believe and experience that my moving in Japara is not something that I have intended to do. The Universe closed the door for me in big cities but opened one widely for me in Japara. It happened for a reason, for the cause I'm struggling now with on Japara, the mainland and Karimunjawa. That is my purpose in life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Dutch to Indonesians and Indonesian to foreigners (yes, our language in English is indeed Indonesian, NOT Bahasa Indonesia because 'bahasa' means 'language'. So English = bahasa Inggris, Dutch = bahasa Belanda).
I can share my knowledge of the history and culture of Japara, which consist of MORE than just Karimunjawa! But unfortunately, not many couchsurfers want to know it. Most couchsurfers just want to have fun without understanding, learning and contributing!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Knowledge of history and culture and the experience, and if you like, the experience of the Javanese spirituality.
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands
Countries I’ve Lived In
