About Me

Bringing music and joy to your home.
Check my website: http://merime.org/

I've just been back from Melbourne, Australia where I was living as a musician for the last 7 years.

I decided it was time for me to discover the incredible diversity of countries, cultures and landscapes which exist all over Europe and to spread my music and love around.

I bought myself an old Mercedes camper van from 1983 that I named Jazzy and hit the road in the beginning of July 2016.

Carame (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/jimijimi), an incredibly talented musician, I met in Australia and became close friend with, joined me to create an exciting and original travelling project: Playing house concerts all around Europe and paying the costs of our trip through donations in the hat.

This concept helped us to meet our audience on an much more intimate level and embraced the way we conceived our music, as a mean to connect with people through sharing stories and life experiences. It especially helped us to really discover the places we visited through the amazing warmth and generosity of the people who hosted our house concerts.

I am a musician. I am a traveller. I am dreamer. I am alive and in love with life.

I believe that breathing is good enough.

I don't know what comes with tomorrow but I trust myself and the universe. I'm thankful with life. Every step gives me opportunities to increase my knowledge and build my wisdom. And when it's tough, I learn a lot.

I build my experiences more than my regrets.

We haven't met yet, but I already like you... a lot.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I share music, stories, experiences and fine cuisine. I'm eager to connect with what is the best in each individual. I really learn and enrich my own life views from helping one another.

From my first couchsurfing experience as a traveller to the numerous other I had wether as a guest or as a host, I've been witnessing so much kindness and generosity from people who were initially total strangers to me. This blew my mind and changed my vision of the world.

The people who hosted me as well as the people I've been hosting were from so many different horizons, ages, backgrounds, and cultures - but with the same desire to help one another, to share and connect.

In the modern world of today where one can often feel isolated because of a lack of real human connection, the couchsurfing project can really contribute to rebuild trust and a strong sense of belonging to a world community.

I'm passionate about music.

As a guitarist, singer, writer and composer, I recorded two albums. Check my website here: http://merime.org

I play various other percussion and string instruments, including Handpans and I try to make a living out of my music.

Tai Chi is another big part of my journey.

I practiced commitedly Vipassana meditation for a few years.

I consider myself a part of the world rainbow family.

I value friendship. I love people, women, cooking, cheese, good wine, mushrooms, having long conversations about life and the universe, laughing, bad jokes, camping and bonfires, hiking in the mountains, watching a good movie, reading a good book.
