About Me

Hi there,

My name is Remi/Merime. Welcome to my page.

You don't have to read it all if you don't want to. You can just check my references (most of them are in the personal section).

Otherwise, this is what I can tell you in writing:

I'm a multi-instrumentalist/sound healer/storyteller/martial heartist traveling in search for beauty, wonder, wisdom, heartfelt connections and eager to share what I’ve learned so far on the journey.

I aim to build a world where people choose curiosity over judgement, trust over fear, kindness and generosity over greed. I’m learning in the process to dance both with my light and my shadow.

When traveling, I often share stories and music through house concerts ( - or workshops, circles, private sessions with a project aiming to build empathy and heart-centered listening I run with my beloved partner Elise (

These days my energy is mostly focused on my home which is also a project named La SOURCE I am volunteering for. La SOURCE is an international and interdisciplinary research and art residency center dedicated to contemplating, defining, understanding, cultivating and practicing love (

I try to live with integrity, presence, warmth, curiosity, gratitude and of course a good dash of humour because life is too important to be taken seriously.

- Be Impeccable with your Word
- Don’t Take Anything Personally
- Don’t Make Assumptions
- Always Do Your Best

And 2 of my favorite quotes (Both from Churchill):

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”

“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find in The Couchsurfing project evidences that strangers can interact with trust rather than fear and generosity rather than profit. Helping one another get us richer than all the money we can earn.

I catch songs, I play guitar and various other instruments including didgeridoo, cajon, ukulele, mouth trumpet, Handpans.

I meditate, practice and teach Tai Chi.

I love to hear people's stories.

I take a lot of pleasure in cooking, especially while talking or listening to some good music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is my foundation
Music is my main conversation
To bring more love and connection
Music is part of the solution

If you suffer from affliction
It will feed you with affection
If you suffer from exclusion
Music will change your perception

It’s the best way for expression
Of our collection of emotions,
A loud or a soft vibration
Like a volcano’s eruption
Or a heartbeat in the ocean
It’s a matter of conception

Life, earth, and you are my inspiration
For creation with intention
To establish a connection
And find in your heart : reflection

Food: Pour garder l’haleine fraîche et le teint halé, je mange uniquement du Maroille avec de l’ail pilé sur une tartine de Saindoux.

Books: I find in books a really efficient way to cure ignorance, racism, boredom, narrow minded people…

1984, Brave New World, Lord of the Rings, Asimov's Foundation, Dan Simmons Hyperion and Endymion, Khalil Gibran "The Prophet", David Deida’s “The Way of the Superior Man”, Neale Donald Walsch’s Conversations with God, Don Miguel Ruiz “The Four Agreements”

I am also a comics devourer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Making my mum proud!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching and sharing as much as I love learning

A few things I can teach you:

- Tai Chi
- Didgeridoo Circular Breathing
- Juggling

I can also teach a few survival tricks for the modern world:

- How to spread butter on a crepe
- How to catch a bubble and keep it in a jar
- How to ice skate in your freezer
- How to base jump from your dinner table
- How to fish a sardine in a can
- How to survive the awkwardness of having made a bad joke

And many, many other things

What I Can Share with Hosts

- I play music, but only tuba, and only between 4 and 6 am
- I cook the best cat you’ll ever eat
- My jokes are so funny... But I always forget their punchline
- I’m really good at washing dishes... but only spoons... and only mine
