HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I love showing people the area around where I live. Often I have brought international students on hikes on these hills which are rippled with waterfalls, ponds and the ruins of old mills. I know a fair amount of the history of the area and like sharing it. Whether it is a sleigh ride in Vermont, or maple sugaring west of Amherst in the hill towns or seeing the homestead of Emily Dickinson or William Cullen Bryant. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I have met many people in my travels and have been offered couches. The people who have taken the time to show me where they live have left me with an experience of place and time that resonates and encourages me to show others where I live.
