CURRENT MISSION

I'm now happily living with my husband & we've pretty much stopped hosting for the time being. Maybe that'll change. Back when I was a single guy, I hosted lots of super fun couchsurfers.

ABOUT ME

i'm a very easy going & like-able soul (with no shortage of harmless quirks) who's always up for an adventure and ready to take in some weary couchsurfing folk & show them a world of a good time right here in Cincinnati

all of which i've come to enjoy their company

hosted local couchsurfing parties at Casa Uhlenhake

movies - i spend a good amount of time researching films worthwhile watching, including foreign & documentaries
i tend not to be drawn to movies with big explosions, computer generated characters, poorly written scripts

music - mostly edgy alternative stuff (not too clubby)
"musicians and music that takes risks and doesn’t fit neatly into any category".

some fav's include: beirut, fleet foxes, the national, sufjan stevens, bell orchestre, arcade fire, band of horses, mgmt & radiohead

some of my old school fav's include:
galaxie 500, nick cave, the pixies, old rem, the replacements, echo and the bunnymen

books - reading travel guide books cover to cover (especially Time Out & Rough Guide)
also read alot of books about Architecture and Urban Design

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

i lived in an adobe house in taos with a bunch of hippies. on a ranch out out by the glacier park. in the downtowns of pretty many u.s. cities.

traveled extensively throughout eastern europe - especially the czech republic where i lived in the early 90's & had many amazing adventures - cycling, spelunking, mountain climbing, exploring

i've also lived in nairobi and traveled all around kenya including the amazing island of lamu; i enjoyed milling with the folks in egypt too

i also loved life in amsterdam & it's gezzelig pubs
