About Me
Hello to my or should I say "our" profile!
Yes, this profile is set for two friends travelling together - Dominika Rogalska and Mikołaj Antczak.
We are a duo, which met in high school, where we became friends and drew closer to each other. Eventually, we decided that it would quite a nice idea to travel together.
We are both 18, born and raised in Bydgoszcz, Poland (yet, Dominika is from a worse district), but we have already been to a few countries. These include:

-Great Britain (Wales)
-Germany (Dresden)
-Czech Republic (Prague)

For Dominika

-Great Britain (Wales, London)
-Turkey (Ankara)
-Greece (Corfu, Crete)
-Canary Islands
We will obviously be more than happy to discuss these places with you, if you wish, but keep it in mind that we were a bit too young during some of the trips, so our memories may not be the most vivid.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, everyone with enough money can get the classic travel experience - pay for hotels, visit some tourist sites, eat at some fancy restaurants and go home. Yet, we are up for something a bit more interesting.
We would like to explore how people live and behave in the places we visit. We want to know what are the customs, habits and everyday routines. Our goal is to get a taste of the local culture and cuisine. Among our plans and dreams are both long conversations with hosts and visiting the most fascinating sites in the cities we visit.
Speaking of the cities we want to visit, here is what we've got planned for our trip, beginning in September
Cracow - Bratislava/Vienna - Vienna/Bratislava - Gyor - Budapest - Kecskemet - Szeged - Subotica - Novi Sad - Belgrade - Jagodina - Nis - Pirot - Sofia - Plovdiv - Haskovo - Svilengrad - Edirne - Corlu - Istanbul

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For Mikołaj
I think the most "amazing" thing I've done in my life is well... writing a scientific paper on an issue not directly adressed in historiography in the English language by anyone else. This paper answers the question of "How significant was Ernesto "Che" Guevara's influence on the treatment of counter-revolutionaries on Cuba in the years 1959-60?" While there are a few sources providing some information on the topic, there is no other paper, which directly adresses this specific issue, which is a source of a great pride for me. Obviously, I will be more than happy to talk about it, as well as historiography in general, as it is not my only scientific paper exploring history.
For Dominika
For me, the most amazing thing I’ve done is participating in a synchronized skating completion twice. It may not seem like much, it is just a sport competition, however to me it means a lot. I have been following the figure skating scene for a while now, and to be able to participate in it is something I am very proud of. Not to mention one of the competitions, the Hevelius Cup, is an officially recognised part of competitions under the International Skating Union.
Teach, Learn, Share
What can we teach?
Mikołaj can mostly teach things related to history (especially european) or some politics, if you wish. Yet, if you want to obtain some knowledge about ice skating or grasp a bit of Japanese culture, Dominika will definitely not fail to deliver.
What do we want to learn?
Dominika is keen on learning more than a few basic phrases in your language, but you may also fascinate her by sharing some music you find particularly enjoyable. As for Mikołaj, as you may realize by now, he will be excited to learn quite a bit of history, as well as get some fine introduction into the political landscape of the country. All of that, topped with a lot of local culture, for both of us.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Obviously, we can share some of our own culture with you. Feel free to ask any questions about Poland! Want to listen to some Polish music? No problem! Want us to cook some traditional meal for you? Just tell us and get ready to eat!
