Overview
About Me
I'm 🌍 a geographer 🗺️ who has studied and lived in Prague (the capital of Czechia 🇨🇿) for a decade. In 2023, though, I moved back to my hometown – Volary – where I can now host people as well.
Since I returned to Volary, I did a few cool trips (such as two 3-month-long travels with the interrail in 2023 and 2024 – see more on my IG: https://www.instagram.com/milanakole.jich/ if interested). I‘m currently self-employed and working mostly remotely, so the chance I could host you in Volary is quite high. I still commute to Prague once in a while, though. Hence, I can occasionally host in Prague at our family flat as well – read the Home section for more info.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I have proper conditions for hosting after I moved back to Volary, I want to offer that possibility to anyone who seeks a shelter/couch for a day or two (or longer, if necessary). I love my home region and I’m always happy to show its beauty to any visitors 😊.
Also, I’m definitely not done with travelling myself, so I might look for a cool company and/or a place to stay overnight once in a while somewhere in the world. My CS experience was usually amazing so far, e.g. meeting and staying at locals in Saudi Arabia (2024 and 2025) is simply unforgettable. Looking forward to new memories and connecting with people across the world!

Music, Movies, and Books
There are so many of everything, so for instance:
🎵: Queen, Florence and the Machine, Alt-J, La Femme, ... Various stuff, old and new from classical music to the alternative.
📺: Again various stuff, among my favourite actors are Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.
📚: Diverse as well; one of my favourite authors from early childhood is Wilbur Smith. Since reading his books I'm kinda in love with (Sub-Saharan) Africa.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ran a half marathon in Moshi, Tanzania (on the slopes of Kilimanjaro) in 2016. The first and so far the only half marathon I've ever run.
Eight years later, I ran a marathon in Prague, Czechia. The first and so far the only marathon I've ever run. Both were fun! :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I'm quite an experienced budget traveler, mostly as a 🎒 backpacker, 🚲 bikepacker or 🚂 "trainpacker" (interrail ❤️). So I'll be more than happy to share any tips I find useful or just random funny stories from my experience gained from getting by mostly around Europe (or beyond – for instance I can tell you more how I got to a wedding in Saudi Arabia).
I'm also happy to (try to) teach anything I have an expertise in – e.g. my beloved geography or the Czech language, my mother tongue :).
What I Can Share with Hosts
FOR HOSTS: I'll be happy to share any workload ahead of you. I can help with any tasks – from ordinary household chores to repairing your bicycle. Also, if you have time and feel like that, I'll be happy to invite you over for dinner and some drink :).
FOR GUESTS: I can offer a private room (which normally serves as a living/working room for me) and share the other essential parts of my flat with you: a kitchen and a bathroom.
