ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Mimi Gilbert. I am an easy going, adventurous, travelling person :) . I am originally from California - born and raised in a small town called Ojai. I moved to Australia when i was 18- keen to follow my music travelling dreams. I lived in Sydney for 3 years and moved to New Zealand when my visa ran out and now live more full time in Wellington, NZ. My dream is to continue playing music (www.mimigilbert.bandcamp.com) in venues and on streets of all kinds around the world. I love all different types of people, cultures, food, homes, music, adventure, outdoor sports etc. I would love to stay on your couch and hopefully be able to give you something special in return. I love couch surfing and am very clean, responsible and small (don't take up lots of space yay!)

PHILOSOPHY
I love life. Adventure and questioning the status quo are big passions of mine.
I consider myself a pretty grounded individual - I do have my own practices (for example, i like to pray ) but I appreciate all beliefs and personalities. I myself and a big believer in being a genuinely loving human being in all details of life. Honesty in the small things leads to honesty in the big things. Doing my best to put others before myself etc. I'm happy :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am good at cleaning, i am not the fanciest cook, but i do love making food for other people. I am extremely flexible, and can adapt to whatever needs to be done in the home :D very wiling attitude.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed in Australia, and a little bit in America and New Zealand. It is something I love very much. And I've only had really good experiences! I am usually a person who wakes up early (7am-9am).

I always love sharing stories, music, food with new people! It's so wonderful

Where do i start. I love all kinds of music. I myself write mostly indie/folk/acoustic/alternative/ music. But i am a huge fan of many genres. Bob marley to bob dylan. Norah Jones to patti Smith. Led Zeppelin to the Black Keys, White Stripes, Reginal Spektor, Yo Yo Ma. all kinds! I love non-fiction books, biographies, but appreciate a good fiction novel too.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Busking in all kinds of cities - I have had the privilege to meet so many amazing people. I love street kids/homeless youth as well, they have got a big place in my heart.

A favourite thing - sleeping in random places like public parks and hammocking in urban trees haha
