关于我

I'm Miro from Italy!

I’m the kind of person who books a one-way ticket, opens Google Maps, and thinks, “We’ll figure it out.” So far, it’s working surprisingly well.
I’m friendly, extroverted, and genuinely curious about people. I love conversations that start with “So what do you do?” and somehow end three hours later discussing history, cultural differences, or why every country thinks they have the best bread.

I work in Data Science and AI, which basically means I spend a lot of time teaching machines to think while I’m still trying to understand humans. Outside of that, I’m currently backpacking across Turkey, then heading to Oman, Sri Lanka, and eventually Southeast Asia. I travel the same way I live: open-minded, adaptable, and slightly allergic to rigid plans.

I’m Italian, which means two things: I like all kind of food, and I cook fairly well (some say) . During the summer I manage a mountain hut in the Alps with some friends, and I’m the cook there, so yes, I can promise real pasta, not the tragic tourist version. Cooking for people is one of my favorite ways to connect.

I also volunteer for an Italian NGO called Karibujua, which operates in Kenyan schools. It’s something I care deeply about, and it constantly reminds me how much you can learn just by listening and showing up.

I love talking about history, culture, politics (in a respectful way), traditions, and the small things that make a place unique. I’m open-minded, I enjoy different perspectives, and I’m always more interested in understanding than judging.

Random facts:
-I will always try local food.
-I’m equally comfortable in a deep philosophical discussion or laughing about something completely stupid.
-I probably have too many things I want to try or hobbies I already do
-I believe the best connections happen when you stop trying to impress and just stay curious.
-I’m not traveling to collect countries. I’m traveling to collect perspectives.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I’m here because I don’t just want to see places, I want to understand them.
For me, traveling is not about ticking landmarks off a list. It’s about conversations in kitchens, random tea breaks, stories about how life really works in a place. The kind of things you don’t find in guidebooks.

Couchsurfing feels like the most honest way to experience a country. You get perspectives instead of performances. Real routines instead of curated attractions.
I’m currently backpacking long-term: Turkey, then Oman, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia. and what excites me most isn’t the famous spots, but the chance to connect with people who actually live there. I love hearing how you see your city, what you’re proud of, what annoys you, what makes it special.

I’m friendly, social, and genuinely curious. I don’t expect to be entertained, I’m independent and happy exploring on my own, but I deeply value shared meals, late-night conversations, cultural exchange, and learning from each other.
I also believe that sharing food and culture is one of the fastest ways to become friends.

In short: I’m here for connection, perspective, and the kind of experiences that don’t fit into an Instagram story but stay with you for years.

First of all: good energy. I’m friendly, extroverted, and very comfortable around new people. I genuinely enjoy connecting, not just coexisting in the same space.

Some say I'm a good cook, so if you host me I’m always happy to cook a full dinner and share recipes (no cream in carbonara, I promise).

I bring stories: from managing a mountain hut at high altitude, from volunteering with an Italian NGO working in Kenyan schools, traveling on the road with a home made Van and from backpacking across different cultures.

I love conversations about history, culture, different worldviews, and how people approach life in different parts of the world.

I’m independent and respectful. I don’t need to be entertained, I’m clean and organized, and I adapt easily to your rhythm and house rules. If you’re busy, I’ll explore. If you feel like talking, I’m in. If you prefer quiet, that’s fine too.
I can also offer curiosity. I’ll actually listen when you talk about your city. I’ll want to understand how things work there. I won’t treat your home like a free hotel. I treat it like a shared human experience.

And if nothing else, I can definitely offer properly cooked pasta and a very solid conversation.
