Half English, half Dutch (and therefore fully european) - I strongly believe that the route to happy life is found by being as open and positive as you possibly can be. I am still testing this hypothesis. I have trouble staying awake past midnight and this really upsets me. Environmental issues are quite important to me, when I travel I stay grounded. I like to discuss politics but from a curious perspective. I'm more interested in understanding why people have their views than in changing them. I like the colour blue but all the other colours have been growing on me. Except beige.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
My partner Rosanna (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/rosanna-milner) and I are attempting to circumnavigate the globe without flying. However we don't want to just travel for the sake of it - meeting people and learning about the cultures that make up the world is far more valuable than just ticking a country off the list. I love new experiences and meeting new people and couchsurfing is a great way to achieve that.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Hiked through the night to watch the sunrise from the peak of Tai'shan in China. It was incredible to be surrounded by people doing the same walk, seeing their torches bobbing up the steps in front of us as we climbed. The view of the sunrise from the top was exceptional - but you have to see it for yourself!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach about how a supercomputer works, or if that's too dull then I can try explain the world of UK politics. I'd like to learn about local cooking or anything else realy, as long as the teacher has enthusiasm, we can share conversation and experiences.
