Resumen
Sobre mí
Hellu! Y'all can call me Moni :)
I had been a travel enthusiast, but was uncomfortable with stepping out of my comfort zone because of all that i heard about THE WORLD OUT THERE. But once i started college, i was suddenly exposed to a lot of new things and i had to be the judge of what to do and what not to do. Slowly i also started travelling alone, which slowly broke down my clammed up self. I have experienced first hand the co-existence of yin and yang, realizing the importance of downs for ups.
Born and brought up in Guwahati (Northeast India), I lived in Delhi for around 6 years, then travelled and volunteered for a year (Himachal, Goa).
Working and living in Chennai right now.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
For a more enriching travel experience; to develop an understanding of a place through someone else's lived experience. To encounter different lifestyles and patterns of living, ways of seeing the world.
This is another step in my venture to understand more about the world around me and in the process give back what i have.

A 6-months+ long campaign to increase the level of awareness about menstrual hygiene among girls coming from the so-called economically weaker sections around Delhi NCR region.
The response was overwhelming !

TEACH and SHARE
One can only teach when the other is willing to learn (also first, I'd have to know what you want to learn myself 😅)
But just to go with it... I can attempt to teach you some Hindi and Assamese (songs if nothing else, because who doesn't remember a nursery rhyme?), some dishes that I like cooking and eating, only-for-the-untrained-eye filmy dance steps. I am also learning to crochet. So I could teach you some basic techniques which you can use to make a variety of stuff (bracelet, purse, coaster, headband, cord cover etc.)
LEARN and SHARE
I'm up for learning anything as much as my fleeting attention-span allows! Since I am learning to crochet and play the ukulele, any tips on that would be appreciated. I would also love to learn how to tie some basic macrame knots.
I am also a very curious person and any kind of info, even if random, is always appreciated 🌼
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
Help around the house in whatever capacity possible.
Conversations about anything and everything under the sun, or just about one thing... Quite flexible that way.
Accounts of my tryst with Psychology, my culture (Assamese, Indian), playing the violin and ukulele, working for various social causes and cooking with whatever the fridge provides.
Some cute or small token gift from where i travel.
