About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We just moved to Madrid Spain this year. We plan on staying in Madrid for a year or so in order to find our dream property so we can build our own self-sufficient / off the grid Bed and Breakfast with a bunch of other business ideas as well. You never know, maybe one of our ideas will be something you enjoy.

Please make sure you check out my girlfriends profile as well.

ABOUT ME

I've always been called somewhat of a adventurous person. I've been traveling on and off for over 20 years. I've never been able to stay in a place any longer then 3 years. I've given up the material world to experience what life can offer you on a bigger scale. I've been across Canada about 20 times, about 40 states, spent 2 and a half years in Mexico, spent almost 4 years in Thailand, some time in Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, about a year in New Zealand, Australia. In 2014 my girlfriend and I did a 1000 km bike ride starting in Norway and going through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and finished in The Netherlands. I also visited Italy, Switzerland, and Spain. Last summer we did a massive road trip from Calgary, Alberta, Canada down to Puebla, Mexico. We actually purchased our van off of two couchsurfers who stayed with us.

PHILOSOPHY

so many people think you only live once, I think that is bullshit, you live every day, you die once

may the best of your past, be the worst of your future

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a member of CS for some time but never really started using it until the summer of 2014. My girlfriend and I CSed most of our bike trip and we loved it. We also did some CSing during our road trip and when we can we love to host people as often as possible. We met some of the most amazing people during our travels. It was amazing to see the countries we visited in a completely different perspective then the traditional guide book way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only had one bad experience where my host kicked me out at 2 in the morning. He turned out to be a real bad apple. Anyways I'm not going to let one experience ruin it for everybody else. Everybody else that I have met on CSing has been great and I look forward to opening my door for other CSers.

Interests

Obviously traveling is a big part of my life. I love photography, and BIG CATS. I have been very lucky to have trained tigers, lions, cheetahs, one black leopard and even a couple bears, just to name a few animals.

Music, Movies, and Books

"A Map for Saturday" is my ultimate favorite movie.

"I know I'm not alone" is a doco by Michael Franti.

"The long way around" and "The monk who sold his Ferrari"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumping in the water and playing with half a dozen full grown tigers is something not many people can say they do. Training an Eagle to trust me that has never liked people, sitting down on the ground with a cheetah and having him eat from my hand, spent new years on a beach with 2500 other backpackers, Angkor Wat on Christmas morning, on stage with my favorite musician for another new years. biking 1000 kms in 5 different countries in 2 months. I went 6 years in a row being in a different country for my birthday. Drove a 13,000 km road trip, just to name a few and so many more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love encouraging other people to go traveling and to make them realize there is so much more out there in the world. Traveling is the best education anyone can get and its a shame that more people dont get out there to educate themselves. I love getting that in people's heads.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook so if you don't mind me cooking, I'd love to cook you a nice meal. Comparing travel stories and just interesting conversations. If we have free time we will take you around to different places that arent really in any travel guide.
