Hi everybody! My name is Nadia. I grew up in Los Angeles but now I live in New York. I'm traveling to Barbados for some water sport activity. I've been to 11 countries so far and I've caught the travel bug. My last trip to the Caribbean I totally fell in love with Jet Skiing so that's the main reason I'm going back to the Caribbean. Unfortunately, the last time I visited I didn't get to meet many locals and so I didn't get a sense of the culture. This time I want to make sure I do and that's why I want to couchsurf. I'd love to chat and get to know each others' stories. Hopefully we get to meet and chit chat and maybe even hang out at local spots and have fun together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My boyfriend and I are going to Barbados and we want to make sure we meet people while we're actually there so that we can get to know how the culture is there rather than just the touristy things. Him and I were very disappointed in Cancun because we only met Americanized people and didn't get to see the real culture of Mexico so this time we want to make sure we do.

Interests

I enjoy dancing, the beach, bike riding, hiking, jet skiing, snorkeling, and weight lifting. I also must admit that I like fancy dinners and dressing up to the nines and being fabulous haha Sparkles and bedazzles here and there never hurt anyone. During the day however, I can be quite the hippie or be a curious little recluse and lose myself in the corner of a cozy library. I think a well rounded person should have different dimensions to themselves.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all different kinds of music. I am bilingual so I love music in Spanish and English and sometimes even in languages I don't speak. I absolutely LOVE to dance. Recently, I started taking belly dancing lessons. I like comedies and action movies and used to read very much as a kid but the fun went away for me once I started reading so much in college haha I prefer so much more to be active and do physically fun things than to sit still in one place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've partied with Chris Brown in Hollywood, seen the Eiffel Tower, seen the refugee crisis in person, seen Pope Francis in person, jet ski'd in Cancun, visited the Mayan pyramids, and plenty more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've tutored children in areas they are falling behind on academically. I've volunteered at schools, parks, hosted fundraising and planted trees. I volunteered to prepare taxes for low income individuals who can not afford to have their taxes prepared. I have volunteered at homes for the elderly. I very much enjoy giving back and helping people whenever I can.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some healthy recipes! I can make healthy home made pancakes with just 2 ingredients. I can share some recipes on healthy home made sauces and creams to use instead of store bought versions. I can share a few other recipes. I also can share my stories of my wordly travels and having lived in the 2 major cities in the United States, New York and Los Angeles.
