About Me
🙂Couchsurfing is only for cultural exchange and genuine friendship. If you’re looking for a romantic relationship or any kind of sexual advance, this is not the right platform.
✈️ I m traveling❗️ALONE🪓from September 2025 to February 2026, so I cannot host people in Beijing.
However, if you don't mind staying with my very quiet husband🙊feel free to send me a request.
🧡I’ll be relying mostly on CS for accommodation for this backpacking trip as I just paid tuition for my another degree. That said, I use this platform more for building genuine connections than just finding a place to stay. 😊
------------------------------------
👩🏻 My name is 采芳(pronunciation:Caǐfāng/Tsai-fahng), or you can just call me Nicole. I’m from a small lovely island called Xiamen (厦门 Amoy), in southeast China, which is located opposite Taiwan.
🫣I have ADHD, I can be messy sometimes but I’m always clean. 🧼👍
I live with my husband, Adam👱🏻♂️. He’s a typical English guy from Cheshire: polite, patient, and super friendly with high empathy. He is EXTREMELY INTROVERTED (and a bit socially awkward 🙊🙈🙉). Since I’m very outgoing, I’ll do my best to make up for his lack of talking! He’s the one who tidies up the room for surfers too. Adam loves playing PS5 and Switch games, and he’s a huge fan of Liverpool Football Club. If you’re also into gaming or football, he might even turn into a chatty person!
We’re both music teachers 🎵 (at different schools 🏫).
🎓I did my master’s degree in Liverpool from 2017 to 2018. That’s where I met Adam, he was my classmate! 🥰 After we graduated, Adam moved to Xiamen, China, with me on April 2019. We worked there for a few years before moving to Beijing in August 2022.
🧳 I always love traveling! My mom was also a teacher, so I traveled with her during summer and winter holidays when I was little. However, she usually joined tour groups, and I couldn’t wait to grow up and travel on my own. Eventually, my dream came true! 😃
Since I turned 18, I’ve been traveling solo during holidays, though only on short trips due to limited funds. That changed when I discovered backpacking and Couchsurfing.
🏠 Adam and I are always busy. we work hard teaching young kids. We teach general classroom music. We have many kids in each class in China, impossible to teach them any instrument seriously. So the music curriculum at primary schools in China are mainly about singing, dance movements and basic music theory. (imagine being surrounded by many naughty kids all day every day… 🤣🤪🫠).
Despite this, I still love meeting new people and would love to welcome them into our home for a few nights. I really enjoy chatting and hanging out whenever I have free time.
☺️You’re more likely to get hosted if you have hosting references yourself or your replying rate is more than 60%.
Welcome people from 🌈 community! 50% of my friends are 🏳️🌈 I always get along well with them👍😃
📒We usually travel during China’s national holidays and summer/winter breaks, so we might not be able to host you during those periods.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
🗺️ To be honest, when I downloaded the app, I just wanted to save money and travel to more places in one go.
But surprisingly, it not only helped me save money on hostels, it also allowed me to meet so many amazing people who supported and encouraged me. This inspired me to help people traveling to my home country.
🧡Now, I use Couchsurfing to build genuine friendships. One of my hosts even drove 6 hours from Scotland to attend me and Adam’s wedding on 20 July 2024 in England 💒 (I posted our photo in my CS album). 🥹
🌍Also, every time I travel, I get bored after just a few days. Don’t get me wrong, the scenery is amazing, but I get tired of seeing beautiful things every day. However, meeting people always boosts my energy. Whenever I think about past journeys, the most unforgettable memories are always about the people I’ve met. 😊
📮I still send postcards to my previous hosts sometimes. I'm always thrilled when they tell me they have received them! I've screenshotted some of their messages and saved some in an album. 🥰

Music, Movies, and Books
We love music! My favorite bands are the Beatles and Radiohead.
I also enjoy listening to classical music, such as Bach’s Fugue, "Songs Without Words" by Mendelssohn, as well as music box music.
My favorite movies are Zootopia, Amelia, Coco, Dead Poets Society… while Adam enjoys rock music and heavy metal. He’s also a big fan of *The Lord of the Rings*.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
🇮🇳 Traveled solo across India for 3 months (from Kochi to Leh, including Kashmir).
👩🏻❤️👨🏼 Built a deep and meaningful relationship with my partner, Adam, for over 7 years (he’s my first boyfriend, and I’m certain he’ll also be my last 😊).
👧🏻 Pursued my childhood dream: becoming a teacher 👩🏫 and exploring the world 🌎.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m very curious about new things and love learning about different histories, languages, mindsets, and cultures. I’d also like to explore how to prepare and cook authentic dishes from various countries and regions 🤓
💪I'm struggling with AC joint pain in my left shoulder at the moment 😭 If anyone has dealt with this and has tips or knowledge to share, please let me know.🙏
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’d love to share everything I know and can! Whether it’s cooking Chinese food, teaching Mandarin 🇨🇳, playing the guitar/ukulele 🎸 or the Chinese zither 🎵, helping you take great portrait photos 📷, or sharing my backpacking stories. I’m here for it all!
