Hi! I’m Naomi. I'm from an island country called Singapore. I had recently finish my post-graduate studies in architecture at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and I’m currently on backpacking trip from August to October around Europe. I have been travelling sporadically around Southeast Asia, whenever time permits during the university’s semester, during the past year.

I am a strong believer in travelling through integrating with the local culture (eg. hanging out with locals, staying with locals). Highlights of my recent travels of staying with locals include living in Maun, Botswana for a month, living in a village on Sumba, Indonesia for another month with local friends, and driving hours out to the outskirts of Uzbekistan to hang out in a village, with the family of a friend I met on couchsurfing, for an entire day.

I have a keen interest in food culture and food history from various countries. I also mostly travel for photography.

What I Can Share with Hosts

To have a conversation about our travelling experiences and also share about my culture. And I’d love to experience your day to day life! Personally not a big fan of tourist sight-seeing stuff - I like to keep it chill.

I’m a hobbyist photographer who has done a couple of part-time gigs on the side, but I mostly shoot as a creative expression. If you need any photography help I’d be more than willing to assist. My instagram account for photography is @nbrays. I’ve also been side hustling as a longboarding coach since university. I can offer free skating lessons if you happen to have boards and wish to learn 🙂‍↕️.
