I'm in love with Carlos Ruiz Zafon books (especially "The Shadow of the Wind"!), also King and Harlan Coben are amazing!
Hard to say which movie is my favourite, but I would choose sth from this three masterpieces: "Intouchables", "Forrest Gump", "Pulp Fiction".
