I am originally from the United States, however grew up overseas for the majority of my childhood and like to consider many places my ¨home¨. I have been living in Washington, D.C. for the past 3.5 years, however recently accepted a position to volunteer and travel abroad for 6 months (February - August 2015). I will be visiting various towns and cities in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil and am very excited to explore and immerse myself in each country's culture. I speak Portuguese and Spanish fluently, but am hoping to become familiar with the colloquial language of each place I visit.

The concept of couchsurfing is very intriguing to me and I am very interested in becoming part of the couchsurfing community. I believe there is so much more to traveling than just visiting touristic sites. To me, traveling is about immersing yourself in a local culture, experiencing a lifestyle different from your own and exchanging perspectives and ideas with people you meet on your journey. Couchsurfing seems like a great way to just that!
