About Me

I live in Washington DC though it took my lost soul years and years to get to a place that I can call home. On the way, I crossed a few continents and numerous countries and survived this chaos we all refer to as life. One thing has been remained consistent --this world is my home and I have learned to find myself by getting lost in new places.

I am a social entrepreneur who is on a kindness journey and interested in working with people in developing and emerging countries-- travel is not something I do, it's something I live and breathe each day while trying to make a positive impact. I also write about my social experiments and run a unique blog that features my interactions with people from around the world.

Check out www.baldmanandhumans.com and connect with me or invite me to your city and chances are, one of these days I will show up.

“Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?”

I was born in Libya and grew up all over the world (14+ countries), though I really grew up in the U.S. and that's where home is. I have had the opportunity to travel through Afghanistan, Pakistan, Germany, England, Turkey, Brazil (one of my favorite places), Puerto Rico, Egypt, Singapore, Japan, Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Netherlands, Morocco, and more ... Within United States I have done cross country and visited most of the states. I am a firm believer that all of us are on borrowed time and connecting with people makes this borrowed time a lot more meaningful. Always looking for connections that will make life more meaningful and fun and friendships that will last through this borrowed time.

So what do you do? What do I do? Ha! I am still trying to figure it out. In my true spirit, I am an entrepreneur which means I am consistently trying to solve problems. Sometimes I end up creating more problems. It sure fun is to be working nonstop and get paid peanuts. #entrepreneurlife.

On paper, I was a cartoonist for a newspaper through my college years. I was a pro DJ for DKNY for 9 years and created some amazing music for their fashion shows. I have been part of several tech startups (some successful some miserable failures). I pay bills by helping some big companies tell their stories (i.e. Disney, MGM, NBC, Univision, etc.) I then take this money and waste (invest) into ideas, products, and people I believe in. I have been asked by many friends and family members to launch my own "comedy standup" act but the brown boy in me is too afraid of being physically attacked. Just kidding -- contrary to what you may think, I have lived and survived some insanely crazy and shitty situations in my life i.e. war zones, conflicted territories, and tribal areas between Afghanistan, Pakistan border. If you can survive there, you can survive anywhere.

If you are coming to DC and need a local friend (perspective) do let me know. If I am around I would love to connect, hear your stories, and possibly show you around.

I cook food from all over the world and I cook like it's no one's business. It's creative, it's fun and more times than not, smells pretty damn good. What's not to love.
