Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not sure how I participate :) I just joined and am still confused, reading all of the Terms and Conditions (yes, I'm a freak and actually read them :) ), trying to understand what the place is about, but it looks nice. I love the idea of this site. Unfortunately, I am not able to offer a couch in Latvia at the moment, as I don't live alone and even though I'd love to invite guests, I'm afraid those who share the flat with me might be not so happy about it. But if you are ever in Riga and want to have a couple of drinks or take a walk around the city, I would be more than happy to keep you company :) I am also planning to go on vacation to Spain this July and if someone is interested in giving me shelter for a couple of days, that would be splendid. :$

Music, Movies, and Books

There are just TOO many to list :) OK, I'll try to list the most recent books/movies/songs that have left a huge impression on me.

Movie:

A couple of days ago I saw "Das Leben der Anderen", a German film that won the Oscar in 2007 for best international movie. It's awesome and I highly recommend it.

Book:

It's hard to pick one, since I love books much more than movies. My all-time favourite book that I tend to re-read every year is The Chronicles of Narnia. I really hate the movie though - it just has lots of special effects and does not reflect the book's idea at all.

I am also a fan of writers such as Ursula K. Le Guin, Guy Gavriel Kay, Charles De Lint, Robin Hobb, Erich Maria Remarque, The Strugatsky Brothers, and several other writers that would make this list endless.

Music:

I can listen to almost anything except Russian pop music - it's horrible. And it eats your brain :)

My playlist changes frequently, but right now, there are a lot of Imogen Heap, System of A Down, Rammstein and Oomph! songs, as well as some tracks from Juno Reactor.

Teach, Learn, Share

I consider myself too young to teach, but I am more than willing to learn and share my new knowledge with others.
