Overview
About Me
I am a 23 years old and I live with my mother (eh, take it easy, i pay my own rent) in the southern state of Oaxaca here in México. Yeah, thats right: I don´t live in México city anymore, but in the south. My house in the outskirts of the capital (wich has the same name as the state) and within 4 kilometers from Monte Albán, one of the precolumbian cities in the old Mesoamerican world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I was a student, I liked geography ´cause it made me feel like I was traveling around the world. That´s exactly the same reason I like to meet foreign people! This site provides me with the opportunity to do both. My state is very interesting, with a great culinary tradition and I will happy to guide any guest who is interested to meet the place. In exchange, all I ask from you is to bring any culinary skills you have and a little advice about alternative construction methods! A little help is always welcome and I´d like to taste any food you can make. Now, if you dont have the skills, and you dont know how to cook, dont worry, you can still be my guest!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stay here, I guess :D
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell some stuff about my state: that includes, of course, where to eat, how to spend much less, take you to visit Mitla and Monte Albán ( the two most important precolumbian cities here in Oaxaca), show you the market, etc! Oaxaca is a place from the precolumbian age and has a very rich tradition, either culinary or else. I would glad to share all the knowledge I have with you.
And about what to learn...well, any skill you can bring will be welcome.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My house. Unfortunately I don´t have a car; the state is very enjoyable and everything is cheap. Everything but lodging, that is. Many tourists haven´t come here before, so they dont know where to go, so they end up with no money and no fun! While, in the other hand, I can help...
However, a warning is in order, because you may have expectations we just cannot fulfill. We are poor. The place, is, as reference pointed it out, very rustic and is still being built. The place is dusty, and we ration the water we use for common shores, in order to reuse it for the bathroom,
We can cook together; however, we will ask you to divide the cost, so it will not be a burden for any. We recollect water from the rain, but there may be times when we will ask you to cooperate for a tank pipe when it has run out. You will need to keep the house clean; if we do the food, you will do the dishes, and viceversa. No matter how poor, you will NEVER leave the toilet without being flushed: you will need to pour water on it.
Ask before using anything.
Now, I know this sounds quite extreme, but i think honesty is better and this is what we can offer to you. There will be times we will no be able to stay with you, due to our other activities, but, if you ask, we will always try to help you.
