Ever since we met in college in Northern California, we have been talking about trekking the world for years. It wasn't until the summer of 2014 when we made the commitment to travel to Australia for 3 months. So from that point on, our commitment to a path less traveled- but well lived- has driven us to become active in the world by creating communities and experiencing life to its fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We want to experience a community that is positive, engaging, and inspiring. The couchsurfing community is full of people that are positive and inspiring, which means a lot of us. Also, spending lots of money on one night in a ritzy hotel room doesn't necessarily mean you'll have a rich experience. So, being exposed to different cultures is very important to us and we believe we can find that through couchsurfing

Interests

We love trying foods from different cultures because it is a symbol for what the culture believes in and what survival means to a group of people. We also love recording our travels through blogging, doing sports to remain healthy, dancing and being around family and friends. We also love visiting places where all the locals go because our experience and view on life will be more authentic, which will give us more memories and a wise heart to share with the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We bought one way tickets to Melbourne Australia knowing no one, no job no place to live with just 4,000 to our names in search of work holiday jobs making a life for ourselves finding work friends and an apartment. We then saved 9000 each in 6 months and used or work push bikes to cross country ride 1000 kilometers from Melbourne to Sydney. We then traveled and volunteered across India, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can teach our spoken languages and want to learn other languages. We can teach backpacking in nature and are always curious about how other countries experience life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories of past adventures and future adventures, music, jokes, and making food together like brownies! Also, having experiences in the outdoors is our passion to share with hosts. We also have a back round in financial budgeting if you want to get into conversations about financial literacy / independence.
