About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Hosting on Couchsurfing has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and after more than 10 years, I still get excited every time I welcome someone new.
IMPORTANT!!!
One thing I truly value is respect and communication. I understand that plans can change, but I really appreciate it when people reply to my offers of hospitality—even if it’s just a polite “no, thank you.” It makes the experience better for everyone.
ABOUT ME

I’m Nico, a 48-year-old Italian guy — curious, positive, and always looking for new connections. By day I work as a marketing specialist in a large insurance company, but my real passion is people. I love exchanging cultures, ideas, and life stories over a good meal or a glass of wine.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in open-mindedness, respect, and kindness. Life becomes richer when shared, and every encounter has the power to teach us something new. For me, Couchsurfing is not only about a place to sleep — it’s about friendship, cultural exchange, and the joy of discovering each other’s worlds.

🌈 I welcome everyone, but I especially value being part of an inclusive, gay-friendly environment where people can feel safe and free to be themselves.
🍑 My home is also clothing-optional and naturist-friendly — not a rule, just an option for those who feel comfortable. I like to keep things natural, relaxed, and respectful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started hosting many years ago, and over time I’ve welcomed friends from all over — from Canada to California, from Aergentina to Estonia… and the list keeps growing. After a long break (partly due to Covid and some personal challenges), I’m happy to be back and ready to open my doors again.

For me, Couchsurfing has always been much more than just offering a bed. It’s a beautiful way to meet people, share moments, and let the world enter my home. Each guest has enriched my life with stories, perspectives, and memories that I will always carry with me. The next step for me will be to travel more myself and experience the other side of this amazing community.

One thing I truly value is respect and communication. I understand that plans can change, but I really appreciate it when people reply to my offers of hospitality—even if it’s just a polite “no, thank you.” It makes the experience better for everyone.

Interests

Music is a big part of my life — I enjoy everything from pop to folk, from new age to Celtic sounds. I’ve always been in love with Tolkien and the magical universe he created in Middle-earth, and over the years my passion for fantasy has only grown (especially thanks to Game of Thrones).

I’m also a theater actor, which gives me the chance to express myself creatively and connect with people in a unique way. Cooking is another passion of mine: I love experimenting in the kitchen and sharing my creations with friends or guests.

And sometimes, I simply like to slow down, look up at the sky — from the shapes of the clouds to the beauty of the stars — and just enjoy the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m passionate about fantasy worlds, both in books and on screen. I’ve always been in love with The Lord of the Rings, and later Game of Thrones fueled even more my fascination for epic stories and magical universes.

When it comes to music, I enjoy a wide spectrum: from Enya and Celtic atmospheres to pop and Italian classics. Music, for me, is a way to travel even when I’m at home.

🎶 One of the songs that inspires me deeply: https://youtu.be/Ir8YsT4kC6A?si=iKYnqSkrLiM8gaJD

“Tan similares que nos maravillará,
tan similares que nos enternecerá.
Tan similares que eso nos protegerá.”

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2025 I walked part of the Camino de Santiago — from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Burgos. Just 300 km for now, but it was only the beginning: one day I’ll complete the journey!

I also lived my dream of visiting Ireland, and I’ll never forget the feeling of walking along the shore at 7 a.m. under the heaviest rain of my life. For a moment, I truly felt Irish ☘️.

One of my most beautiful memories with a guest was climbing a mountain together — reaching the top was not only about the view, but also about sharing that joy with someone else.

For me, the greatest adventure is simply living my life fully, every single day. My friends sometimes think I’m crazy for being such an active couchsurfer, but if “crazy” means living intensely, then I’m proud of it!

On stage, I also get to explore other lives: in the theater I played the role of Agrado from Almodóvar’s All About My Mother (Todo sobre mi madre) — an unforgettable experience that taught me a lot about authenticity and courage.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing my way of life, my dreams, and the values that guide me… but above all, I enjoy sharing my passion for cooking 😊. Nothing brings people together like a good meal around the table, and I’m always happy to prepare something for my guests.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My home, my hospitality, and my smile — because I want every guest to feel truly at home.

🌈 I welcome everyone, but especially those who are gay or gay-friendly.
