Overview
About Me
Hi! I am a young person, exploring the world (and trying to combine it with my 9-5 office job, haha).
Raised in Belarus, I've always new that I can't stay in the same place. Moved to Kraków when I was 17, where I finished my uni and happily stayed. Still, can't stay in one place, so travelling became my second nature.
I am more extraverted than introverted, especially during travels. I did my fair share of solitary travelling, but it's always nice to share experiences with people. But I also need some time alone to process all the emotions I've got.
Also, not looking for in dating/relationships/etc.
Things that excite me:
- Freedom. That's why I love biking - almost the most "pure" form of travelling (besides hiking). You don't depend on anything - no gas stations, no tickets, not even weather. Just grab your bike and go. Also, I love practicing my free will and climbing on places that aren't supposed to be climbed.
- Speed. Though I'm not so good at controlling it :)
- Art. Music, films, computer games, fine arts. That's why I'm learning to play guitar. Oh, and I also love exploring perfumes - this is also a form of art.
- People. I don't need to explain, I think. It will be either too basic or too long.
- Abstractions. Maths, physics, philosophy. It scratches a special itch in my brain.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because my friend shared so many fun stories from her couchsurfing days, I couldn't resist :)
But seriously, it's simple: to meet people and to have fun. I can go somewhere just to do sightseeing (as I did a couple of times), but that's not it. Meeting locals and exploring culture - that's what's important. Also, sharing my culture with travellers.
As an expat, I've met a lot of amazing people from all over the world. Couchsurfing is another way to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books
- Music. My tastes change about once a year, but one thing is constant - metal. I started with Sabaton, but now I'm a fan of Gojira, TOOL, Godflesh. Also, "classic" metal of course: Metallica, Black Sabbath. Been to plenty metal concerts and festivals - almost always in the center of moshpit.
Otherwise, "classic" rock. My favourites are Pink Floyd, RHCP. Recently, i started to like electronic music - Pixel Grip, Danger, Perturbator.
- Movies - easier to check out letterboxed https://letterboxd.com/Avogard/. A big fan of Jim Jarmusch and David Lynch.
- Books - read Harry Potter like 4 times in my childhood. Now I'm a science fiction fan - Hyperion books are my favourite. I like Dune, but I stopped on the 4th book. Also trying to catch up with classics recently - mostly Russian classic literature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was a volunteer mentor/teacher of English. The girl I was mentoring later thanked me and mentioned that I was a huge help to her path of learning English. This is still one of the most important things to me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach guitar basics - I'm not very good myself, but I know a couple of chords and songs.
I love origami, I can show my favourite models.
I can give some advice for aspiring software engineers.
I can teach my languages - Polish, Russian, and English. Also, I can tell you a lot about Slavic countries - given my origins, I have some experience :)
I can teach proper technique in most gym exercises.
I'd happily learn anything connected with music, especially guitar.
Most importantly, we can share our culture and vibes.
