Overview
About Me
I am a versatile individual looking to permanently move to another country to experience a different culture.
I have a YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@studio-neko
I am not a content creator. These videos are records of my life :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Once upon a time, Couchsurfing started charging users. I thought it should be free, but in reality, platforms need some sort of finance to maintain the platform. Facebook or Instagram do this through ads or paid schemes utilized by content creators. Perhaps Couchsurfing might benefit the most with a 'freemium' scheme instead so it doesn't lose its networks among individuals who prefer to use the platform for free.
It's a great way to meet new people and learn about other cultures. I want to meet different people and learn from them.
I surfed at a physicist's house, and my stay was the most awesome so far! Every night, we'd talk about random stuff from World War II, Russia, the USA, wars in the Middle East, the world economy, culture, bias, discrimination, the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing, and musings in life. It was so varied and random and fun!
I stayed with two wonderful hosts in the North of France. We attended a music festival and I was taken around the local town, and saw one of the most beautiful cathedrals I've ever seen!
I've hosted a traveler in Japan, and she's a very admirable woman! I'll always be inspired by how strong, independent, and opinionated she is.
I've hosted a Frenchman in Japan, and he was one of the most awesome guests I've ever had. He'd cook warm meals every night, and I enjoyed our conversations over Japanese curry.
An Italian kindly hosted me in Trieste, in time for the Summer School in my program. She was very kind and accommodating -- she opened her doors to me! I love her and her city, and I wish to return to Trieste shortly.
