ABOUT ME

I'm both in transit and in transition.

The transit isn't as important to me, considering that my roots need dirt.

But I have a tenuous grasp on society in its commonly contrived form, and am looking to build. To shape and support a qualitatively better experience for myself and especially others. I still struggle to break my limitations, and have run into plenty of learned helplessness. So I'm breaking habits, forming new ones, and looking to meet more like-minded folks. There is a lot I'd like to learn and teach. I would like to give more often than I get. When it comes down to it though, I'm most interested in shared fulfillment. Shared dignity and respect.

PHILOSOPHY

Personal autonomy and accountability are important to me right now.

Hiking...anything in or about nature, cooking, gardening, reading, anarchism, and metaphysics/critical metaphysics are some things off the top of my head.

I'm interested in enjoying things thoroughly and I like having present conversations. Nowadays I'd rather have a comfortable silence than to fill the air with my own chatter. I don't particularly like filling out this profile...

Books-
As it turns out I'm currently reading too much. I usually devour books one at a time, feverishly.

I've got Fritjof Capra's The Tao of Physics, Philip K. Dick's A Scanner Darkly, David Graeber's Towards an Anthropological Theory of Value, Hubert Selby Jr.'s Requiem for a Dream, and Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn (again) all in a sort of reading trainwreck. I recently finished Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Movies-
Directorial debuts, "cerebral thrillers", "gritty independent flicks", dark humor/satire, and most everything before the '50s (i.e. at least no police procedurals or pathologized criminals). I like the anti-authoritarian tradition of classic film noir and tend to enjoy subversive, creative, or character-driven stories.
