In India-
For long-distance train ticket booking, you can log in on the IRCTC website(government). I can send you the link if you want.
However, if you book through a foreign(sim card) quota, you can get it easily with a little higher price than normal.

Local, city, intercity buses are easy access, but it will take more time than trains.

If you go remote places away from the city, there are small auto-riksha that help to commute locally. This you must try.
