I used to be an art director in the advertising industry, but sailing around the Atlantic Ocean (in a boat from 1894) for a year changed me somehow. Now it seems I can call myself a curator and a photographer. I recently assisted the Norwegian fine-art photographer Dag Alveng and now I am working with my own art photography. My last exhibition was in New York last year.

I have grown up in a tiny island-society on the Norwegian south coast. I used to row to school, where there was one other person in my class. As an 18-year old, I explored the south-eastern Australia in a pink ‘72 model Volkswagen Beetle, before I went back to serve as a librarian and cinematographer in the Norwegian navy.

For the past years I have worked and lived in Oslo, Stockholm, Bergen, Prague, Belgrade and NYC.

I strive to be self-ironic and not take myself very seriously.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted a few people before I sailed around the Atlantic Ocean. On the trip we used Couchsurfing extensively to meet locals. It is a fantastic tool. After a long break I have now started hosting again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had plenty of guests, and they have been fantastic. The CS project is arguably the best social experiment out there on the net. It's bullet proof fun.
