Hi, I'm Oleg, 30 y.o. guy living in a lovely Almaty city! I have traveled quite a lot and really love CS community.

I like to hang out with my friends and play board games with them (many of them, the favorite one for now is Machi Koro and DnD), some action games like Alias Party, charades and JackBox. We like to go out for some interesting exhibitions, galleries, restaurants and hiking around Almaty. We host home parties for friends and go for music concerts.
I don't smoke, don't do any drugs, but I like to have a dinner with a glass of wine, and don't mind some gin tonics at a party ;)
People usually treat me like a kind, considerate and calm guy. I can keep up a conversation easily but not joking much (especially when speaking English as I cannot be as sarcastic as I am when speaking Russian) but it should be easy to communicate with me :)

I think it worth mentioning (just to avoid any misunderstanding) that I was born and lived the most part of my life in Russia. Due to the war Russia started I decided to leave the home and looking for a better place in the world (and luckily found amazing Almaty in Kazakhstan!). I haven't been to Russia since I left in 2022 and do not support the Russian agression.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is the best way to discover the culture of other counties and mentality of the local people.
And after the little couchsurfing experience of mine and my friends I think that gives you the huge emotions and impressions.
Now I'm able to host so I want to exchange the experience as host too.

Interests

Quizzes and board games. We meet with my friends almost each week to play together some board games or join a quiz. We are into to Call of Ktulhu, Secret Hitler, Game of Thrones. Crazy six hour games are always fun for us and we do not get bored :)

Movies. I like to go to the cinema or watch movies at home.

Music. I was in top 4% of Spotify listeners worldwide last year ^^

Cooking. Trying something new when I have time on the weekends. Like to cook complex dishes and baking.

Hikings and exploring around - so far me and my friends have visited more places around Almaty than locals lol.

Traveling. The last one gave me the most exciting and useful experience in my life. That's why I'm here.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love any kinds of music it's only depends on my mood and the how a song sounds. Mostly I like some 'weird' music (Wardruna, Locked Club, Enter Shikari, Bjork, Nightwish, Lady Gaga, Charli xcx - it is really a mess) which hard to describe but it's mostly electronic :)

Movies - Inception, Stand by me, Harry Potter, Arrival, Nocturnal Animals, Alien and others.

Books - I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter series. I really like Anton Chekhov, but I don't read much honestly speaking

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had an amazing dinner with couchsurfers in Stockholm
Visiting Japan - the most attractive country! Have visited twice actually :)
I've been swimming with whale sharks and dolphins in the open sea
Relocated to another country in 2 days (do not recommend repeating it! x)
Climbed to a 3650 peak near Almaty
