About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am currently living in the Antalya region on the Eastern Mediterranean coast of Turkey where I teach and am also involved in a local initiative to make my town single use plastic-free
ABOUT ME
well, i'd love to describe myself as funny, witty and wacky but i'd be lying really. I'm probably quite serious although fun-loving too.
I'm a single mother with a wonderful daughter of 26.
I'm a real believer in connections; personal connections, friendships and their strengths and the kindness of strangers...
PHILOSOPHY
"Seize the day" but also "Never burn your boats" - guess i'm quite pragmatic as well as passionate...!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted several people now and been hosted many times too. I've had some great experiences and am keen to continue participating.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had some wonderful times through Couchsurfing. Have met some beautiful people and had some great conversations and shared experiences. The only time that hosting was less than excellent was as a result of a traveller's extremely smelly feet stinking out my living room the next day - and if that is the most negative experience to come from hosting complete strangers... well, what can i say?!
Interests
i love a good dance, world music, cooking and eating, photography, stand-up comedy. We need to laugh more!
I keep myself fit, do Pilates every morning and am really into swimming especially in rivers and the sea. I love being near water in any shape or form and I love being on the beach.
I'm quite political or at least interested and engaged in social and environmental issues, human rights and international politics. In the U.K. I’m a member of the Green Party and belong to the Extinction Rebellion movement - a bit harder in Turkey!

Books ~ The Perfume by Patrick Suskind, Fugitive Pieces by Ann Michaels, A Fine Balance by Rohington Mistry, Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell...
Music ~ so much - Brenda Fassie for the best dance, lots of Latin and African especially Senegalese music - Wasis Diop, Ali Farka Toure, some jazz and blues, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits etc etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
