About Me

We are a couple from Uruguay with the dream to travel all around the world. Our adventure started at New Zealand on December 2016 and we already have done some countries of the Europe, Asia, África and América, knowing a lot of amazing people on the way :)

We are building a travel blog to keep our memories fresh and at the same time to provide information about trips and tips. Its name is Jerry Viaja: https://jerryviaja.com

Simple is the adjective that best describe us, we like traveling light and smooth.
We love learning about everything, meet new people and cultures, finding new roads to follow.

The next adventure for this year is exploring Central and South America :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why not Couchsurfing?

We approach the Couchsurfing movement some years ago but didn't have a couch to offer, so we went to some Montevideo Couchsurfing community meetings and gave tourist guide to some persons we met there. Later we started traveling and where host for many friendly people. In Spain, we had the opportunity of renting a house and return back the favour :) Now we are again on trail.

What we can say for sure is that, after the experience of known each new place with locals, hotels have become too unpersonal for us. Now our memories are full not only with the enjoyable places we have been but also with the marvelous people who hosted us or stay with us.

Interests

Should be easier to talk about what we are not interested in.
Biggest interest: travel, sports, extreme sports including climbing and parachuting, hikking, trekking, photography, music, meditation, coffee, oenology, networking, telecommunications, network security, reading, swimming, handmade abilities.

We are not that much into parties and prefer a nice meeting with few people but doesn't mean we don't enjoy a good party from time to time, specially if it's part of a cultural event ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Talk about "my favorite" of a topic is not enough.
The majority of music fascinates us, extreme sports have our hearts.
We love climbing, trekking, hiking, parachuting and what else imply movement and nature.
But above everything, we love traveling.

Some authors we love: Charles Dickens, Terry Prattchet, Ursula K.Leguin, Daniel Quin, Katherine Neville, Isabel Allende, Ildefonso Falcones, Noah Gordon, Ray Bradbury, Borges, Lewis Carrol, J. R. Tolkien, Patrick Rothfuss, Gabriel García Marquez, Roger Lancelyn Green, Muriel Barbery, René Goscinny y Albert Uderzo, Joaquin Salvador Lavado, Herman Hesse

Some music we like: 2Cellos, Arctic Monkeys, Sigür Ros, The Beatles, Badfinger, Bastille, Beirut, Bob Marley, Cat Stevens, Cocoon, Celtic music, Daft Punk, Cuarteto de Nos, Creedence Clear Water, Los Auténticos Decadentes, Joquín Sabina, Los Caballeros de la Quema, Dirty Pretty Things, Die Antwoord, Dream Threater, Eddie Vedder, Radiohead, System of a Down, Emir Kusturistica, Extremoduro, Eric Clapton, Era, Sinatra, Hugh Laurie, Tommy Emmanuel, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Beethoven and much much more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leave behind our "secured settle life" and chase our dreams! Jaja.

But talking serioursly, mmm, parachuting with a sunset, hearing bomb explotions at middle east, seeing a tiger hunting a rhino in the wild, stayed in a local village in Laos, being in a bus on indonesia with the driver at 100 kmh in the middle of the city driving on the wrong way and cars jumping aside...

Teach, Learn, Share

We can share our life experiences. Diego would be glad to teaches what he knows and learn what he doesn't know about photography, His dream is become a professional photographer.
We also can share our knowledge in telecommunications and nourishment (if it is something you are interested in).
We love to learn new stuff all the time, so we are capable of work hard in exchange of new knowledge and experiences!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Our tales and stories from the places we have been in, experiences, local and non local tips, and whatever doubt our guest/host could have and we could answer.
