We are a small family consisting of Ada(age:3.5), Çiğdem (age:37) and me

We've hosted around 50-60 people so far (some of which were thru warmshowers.com) and were hosted by 5-6, we still keep in touch with all our hosts and many of our guests. We are academicians teaching in universities and doing research on econometrics, statistics and industrial design-engineering. We love to travel and learn more about new cultures and places. We sometimes also do long distance bicycle touring.
Ada likes to chew our mobiles, mice and remotes and watch silly miss lilly on youtube.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Meeting local people and spending time with them makes travelling a completely different and amazing experience. It is i think also the best way to have lasting international friendships. And its one of the biggest aims of us being here.

Intereses

Travel, cycling, bicycle touring, designing and building things.
Dreaming about tropical rainforests and islands.

Çiğdem and I have met in a dance class in 2010. We stil dance, even threesome with Ada frequently.

Música, películas y libros

I am trying to play cornet and usually take my pocket trumpet everywhere i go(now I've quit). I have a collection of mp3s that evolve in years that i take with me to places, listen to while cycling to work and back. For the last several months Ada is determining our most favourite music, she used to listen Sting a lot. Then she learned about Maroon 5. Nowadays she enjoys Turkish traditional music, listening and clapping hands. She likes watching Peppa the pig.
I watch space movies, movies related to oceans and underwater, submarines, travel movies, adventures in foreign lands. And other childish movies, never managed to grow mature. Me and Çiğdem watch travel videos, walking videos shot in beautiful cities we plan to go one day.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I've sailed from Europe to Asia in a 2.5meter sailboat I've built myself from 2 sheets of plywood. :D
Then in the same day returned back from Asia to Europe, it was a bit more difficult though, due to strong current. Might tell the details later :D

Me and Çiğdem have travelled from Turkey to Italy by bicycle in 2019 and hope to do similar trips in Europe soon.
