My world is too small and I'm breaking out
This is where I always try and be really cool but end up failing... including this time... i'm relaxed, open and friendly. I play basketball, guitar, didgeridoo and like to surf when I can. I'm passionate about justice and equality and don't mind the odd riot :)
To be open and listen to everything because I know nothing. To be passionate and direct. To detach myself from materialism wherever possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Been Couchsurfing for a couple of years and finally beginning to host!
I find it amazing how CS seems to attract awesome people. I wish i'd found CS a long time ago!
I've played and referee'd basketball since i was 6 and still love the NBA. Camping, hiking, surfing and anything that connects me to nature keep me on a high. I play the guitar, didgeridoo and a little bit of piano and I find music a very positive influence.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love gritty movies that deal with taboo subjects like Trainspotting, Fight Club, The Dark Knight, V for Vendetta, Mozart and the Whale, American History X etc
I like all types of music and what i listen to constantly changes. I have gone through periods where one band has dominated what i'm listening to and Bad Religion, Incubus and Muse have all filled this space. I enjoy political punk like Against Me, Rise Against, Anti-Flag etc but I also like the groove of reggae and acoustic-folk and the intensity of dance and metal music. Music is always a totally positive influence on my life and I enjoy sharing that with people.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Experiencing the full force of a South African township, learning enough kinyarwanda to have a small coversation, diving Mafia Island, Tanzania + heaps heaps more
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an analytical chemist, so I have a reasonable idea about the physical aspects of the world. I would love to learn more about sustainable development and increase my skills in gardens and manual work. I have some natural talent with sports and a reasonable knowledge with camping and hiking. Basically, if someone wants to teach me a new skill, i'm open to have a go and if someone wants to learn something from me then i'm available.
Countries I’ve Visited
