Overview
About Me
I've lived in Amsterdam for 12 years now. I work as a chef in a brewery. Whenever I am traveling I don't like to make many plans. I like to go with the flow and like to explore more than just the normal touristy places and it always happens that those random places are the best!
I am very interested in learning about new cultures. Traveling is much more than just ticking of the famous sights. I love seeing how other people live their lives, what food they make, what music they listen to and how they spend their free time.
I live together with my girlfriend in our cozy little home we recently bought. We have a spare room where we could host people. We are both vegetarian.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsourfing is an amazing place to meet new people from all over the world. I believe every country has something special and no boring places exists. It's all about the people you meet.
Interests
I love to do anything what is new and exciting. Having food from your country, listen to new music or going for a hike. And trying local beers is one of my favourites.
One of the things I like during traveling is hitchhiking. People are very hospitable everywhere in the world. You get to explore places you've otherwise never would have heard of. I've hitchhiked all around Europe, Canada, the US and the middle East. My biggest trip was hitchhiking from Amsterdam to Beijing. Got 181 rides in 19 different countries. Couchsurfing, hostels, wildcamping, it was awesome!
My goal is to visit every country in the world one day.
I also love nature and camping, eventhough the Netherlands doesn't have mountains there is so much to see and to do.
One of the regions in the world I love to travel to is the Middle East. The food is absolutely amazing everywhere and people are one of the most friendliest in the world. Hitchhiking was super easy there and everyone greeted my with a big smile!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a huge vinyl lover so I always try to find a local record shop. Music is a big thing in my life. After visiting South America I am really into Cumbia! But listening to music from all over the world is so interesting. I always love to go to live music. Pink Floyd and Oasis are my favourite bands!
I like to read things from my favourite writer John Steinbeck or travel books like The Old Patagonian Express by Paul Theroux or The Places in Between from Rory Stewart.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 19 I did my internship in India and lived there for a while by myself. It was such a cool experience to live somewhere where the culture is so different. Great experience!
