About Me

Not accepting guests currently due to change in living situation and shortage of space.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find it interesting.

Interests

More interested in people and the world around than in hobbies, and my low attention span definitely doesn't help. I have phases of hobbies that I pursue. Currently, it's reading, so any recommendations would be great. Attempting to write a novel, so please wish me luck with that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Music, Movies, and Books

Constantly evolving, current favourites are Spiritualised, Laura Marling, specific songs of Tagore, The Antlers, Cigarettes After Sex, Ben Howard and specific songs of AR Rahman.

Miss good Indian cinema in Europe. Love mainstream, yet topical films like Udta Punjab, Piku, Highway, etc. Jo bhi bolo, Sholay is hilarious. Don’t have much to say about western films, haven’t been keeping up. Frances Ha was the last film that actually stayed with me the longest.

Update: would 100% recommend The Assassin. Been listening to Sophie and Kishore Kumar a lot lately.

Attempting to read sci-fiction as part of research for a novel that I’m currently writing. Have started with Brave New World. Would love more recommendations of your fav sci-fi novel.

Update: currently reading my partner’s first complete novel. The name’s still a working title but maybe if he likes you, he’ll let you have a read yourself. It’s light-hearted sci fiction, with veryyy topical implications.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Explaining it here will be tricky.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach Hindi and Bengali. And English, of course. I've been an English teacher as a teenager.

I'd love to learn new languages. Been a translator for 4 years. Being multi-lingual comes quite easily to me. Looking to improve my German currently.

I believe that one can never share too many stories. I enjoy the ones happening around us, as well as the ones we make up in our minds.
