About Me

Dear lovely CS people, I'm looking forward meeting you : )

My name is Peer, and originally I am from Frankfurt (Germany), but moved to Malta a while ago … following the call of more abroad experiences. I am someone who likes to have fun and be around open-minded people. Most travellers are exactly that!

For over 10 years I’m a passionate traveller now. Even if I always feel like not traveling enough, I had the opportunity to see some parts of the world already (counting 25 countries now).

When moving to Malta I joined the local CS community which is quite vibrant and active here – either through the app, or on alternative platforms. It is still about hosting travellers but became more and more a social community to go for joint activities and have a good time together.

We are organizing weekly meet ups and MANY things more: Pub nights, game evenings, karaoke, pool parties, boat parties, club parties, house parties, BBQ, beach hang outs, volleyball, padel tennis, run club, volunteering jobs, cinema nights, bowling, and MUUUUCH more …
Just reach out and ask what’s going on, you are more than welcome to join.

One more thing about myself:
I consider myself a structured person, need my sleep but especially when travelling (and when having travellers around) I am way more flexible, spontaneously, easy going and committed to be an excellent host / guest^^

Again: Looking forward meeting you : )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

New year resolutions are made for becoming true, so I decided to finally join the CS community at the beginning of 2023. A friend of mine is hosting people for many years already and he is always sharing exciting stories. When you ask me, I’d have some more NY resolutions to share … 😊

I have always been curious about intercultural experiences, cannot get enough of it, and that is what CS means to me. Beside that it is great to give and get real insider experiences when visiting a places, not “just” as a tourist.

Last but not least: Couchsurfing is related to a certain mentality. We are curious, open, tolerant, and respectful people – also willing to help and bringing others together to have a good time. I consider myself a great fit for that.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I do consider myself having “extraordinary” skills to teach … or maybe I do, let’s find it out together ^^ However, I am more than happy to share my travel and life experience.
Beside that I have been teaching IT and economy lessons as a volunteer in South Africa for a couple of months.

Learn: I love learning new things so if you have a skill you want to share, I would be more than happy to extend my horizon!
Another lifetime project is learning Portuguese. I’m always happy to improve.

Share: Beside the “standard” stuff (= cultural German insights), I am happy to share travel stories and if you are interested, I can offer insights for budget flights (check out Chimpando for example)
